I was on two earlier cigar passes on this board in the day. May I make a suggestion or two:

1. Keep with the shotgun start method.
2. Maybe reconsider the minimum dollar amount. $25 bucks overall is great, but cigars have gone nothing but up since the last passes. Drop the count to 4, and raise the minimum to $7 to avoid possible dog rockets (not my term, but from one of the earlier passes). 4 cigars is plenty IMHO to get the suggestion across, and leaves some open for a repeat pass not too long after.
3. For those that don't want to deal with the packing, you can call Serious Cigars, who will have just about anything you'd want to send, and have THEM handle the shipping with your purchase over the phone with a card. They will be professionally packed and you'll save a trip to UPS.

Just some ideas, take it for what its worth.

I'd support the 7 buck minimum and passing 4 cigars instead of 5. No dog rockets allowed. Awesome term BTW.

I think that a 5 stick $40 minimum is appropriate. I've done blind passes and gotten $4 sticks when giving $7 sticks. I still smoke them but I think a $6 minimum is appropriate (single buy price, not box)

Those sticks came from various Cigar sale/trade Facebook groups I'm a member of. But cigarsofhabanos.com is a great site and reputable, I use them for any boxes I need.

I'll likely get "in" if the $7/stick minimum with a max of 4 sticks is a go. I was always in search of the $5-7 miracle, but with the prices going up over the last few years it is now the hidden great $7-9 stick.

Note, I am not trying to be a cigar snob here. If I were to be part of this and have an off the rocks $5 stick sent with another to offset I'd be stoked.

But a lot of us that have smoked cigars for years tend to have a preference, and that is kind of a downfall of a pass. I tend to like a Maduro with a full body/oily leathery with some peppery flavors. That is not real congruent with a vanilla, mild, or acid/flavored cigar (some of which I have received). That being said, there was one with a very slight vanilla flavor/smell that was sent. Very slight, and I still have it in the humi, off by itself from the first pass on this board. It looked like a quality smoke, but never found the perfect morning to start the day with it.

I know it would be a real ***** to try and line this up with personal tastes. Whoever takes this task on will be challenged.

I updated the rules to say 4 cigars @ $7 each since there seemed to be no objections

If Old Sarge wants in that makes the list 15 people.

Are any of the Cuban cigars available on that site worth the prices they are asking? It seems like in the 50 years that they haven't been available to the US the industry has been perfected in Nicaragua, Dominican Republic and elsewhere. Is it just the difficulty in getting them now that is driving their cost and perception or are they really better?
