Awhile back there was an OB cigar pass. Wasn't a part of it but would like to be though. I think the simple plan is to start with a certain number of sticks from person #1and then it gets sent to person number #2. They remove a predetermined number of cigars and add a predetermined number back and then send it to #3 and so on and so forth until the last number sends it back to #1

I'm in, dibs on Master Aggie's stash! I think it was only a single pass, from one poster to the next, but I missed the last one as well. Keep bumping the thread till the cigar aficionados show up.

Last time I participated everyone who wanted to participate signed up. You were told to spend ~$X on each cigar ( I think 5 total cigars maybe) and you were told who you were passing to.

It wasn't necessarily set up to where you take one out add one in, but if you timed it right you could receive yours and then send some of those on to the person you were sending to

One of you fellas who was in on the last pass give us the rules and propose a plan for the swap.

Last one I did was 2010, so I'm running from rusty memory:

• Someone compiles the list of names, and assigns an order.
• Combination of 5 different sticks, minimum total retail value of $25.
• #1 contacts #2 for address, and sends their bundle. Preferably sealed at a minimum in a ziploc, and shipped to prevent crushing.
• When #2 receives bundle from #1, they ship their own bundle to #3.
• repeat...

There was never really any discussion about passing on sticks from the bundle you received, but I don't see any issue with it - other than that the idea is to pass on sticks that you know and like for someone else to enjoy.

In my mind, a nice addition would be if each person would include a note indicating what the cigars are - it's sometimes difficult to determine from a band alone. Especially if it's regional, or hard to find, or if there's something special about it, like you've aged it for a time period, etc... Any pairing preferences would be a welcome surprise, as well.

One of the first ones was Dude A sent to Dude B. Then Dude B sent to Dude C. It takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r. It was like a little kid waiting on Christmas morning.

The next couple of versions were a random assignment of Dude A sends to Dude F. Dude E sends to dude A, and everyone sent at the same time. It was like Christmas morning watching everyone open their stuff.

There's a aggiecigarpass@gmail email address floating around, but I don't remember who last had the keys to it.

It sucks to say this, but if you are gonna participate, then F'n participate. Don't regift sticks (happened on one of them). Don't forget about it (happened at least twice). Don't disappear (happened so bad once we emailed staff to see if they had contact info). And don't welch (happened at least once that I know of).

And WTH, I'll play.

I might get all stupid and sent one of you an Opus X I've been sitting on for a few years.

Who wants to organize this? Me? I can if needed but never done one before. I think the method of drawing names and sending them to one person is a better option than mine previously mentioned.
