A blue parachute and the "****" means its official. Its time for the fifth installment of the Outdoors Board Cigar pass... at least I think it is the fifth, I lost count, but anyways 5 is a good number. We'll go with that.
I think it went surprisingly smoothly last time, so we'll do it the same way again. Once we get everyone's addresses, I'll send your victim's, er, recipient's address to you and you are free to send as soon as you are ready.
The signup period will be a week from today. Send an email to AggieCigarPass@gmail.com with your username in the subject and your name and address in the body. Go ahead and put a post up in this thread too so others can see who is participating.
I won't be traveling for work while this is going on, so no shenanigans like last time with 2 versions of the list.
The rules are as follows:
1. You don't talk about the cigar pass
2. Disregard rule 1, talk about it all you want. Let us know when you ship your package and when you receive it, post what you received.
3. Send ~5 cigars, I think most people spend between $40 and $50 on the packs, but some of us tend to lose count and send more. Don't feel obligated to go above the amount listed above but the lower limit is the bare minimum value you should send(think of it like pieces of flair, you don't want to just do the minimum, do you?). The prices are a loose guideline and we all know that we all have different financial situations.
4. Please send quality cigars that are in good shape. No dog rockets as they call it. A fair portion of us don't like ghurkas, rocky patel or most of the Dominican made cigars that have cuban names. If you haven't been keeping the cigars in a good environment, go get some new ones.
5. Package the sticks well. A five pack in a ziplock will fit in a small USPS priority box, a bit of bubble wrap goes a long way, or newspaper works as well. Its cool this time of year and priority mail is pretty quick so extra humidification shouldn't be needed.
6. Please be timely about sending out your package. Once you get the address, it shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks to get it sent off. Please don't fall off the face of the earth and disappear. Although I am jobless at the moment, I don't really care to chase people down because they forgot that they signed up. This won't take very long if we all stay on top of it.
