Hello OB

Any insight on typical costs of a well in Llano Brady Voca area. What about finding water at extreme depths. I've heard a typical well in good areas will run between $15 -20K ? any insights are needed. Thanks

Just drilled one in Comal county. Not super close to your area, but I can get you the depth, pricing, etc if interested.

Don't know the cost to drill but check with Virdell Drilling in Llano. They maintain my well in FBG and know their stuff.

Got an estimate in 12/15 for a well in rural Jack County. No aquifer, so finding water is hit and miss. If they had to go 200', it was about $ 5000 for well, casing, pump, and tank. To go 500', about $ 14,000. I can send copies of estimates if that would help.

We are in Collin County so no help in your area but our well guy said its about $30K to drill a well around our area and that's down to about 1.000 feet more or less (water at 750)

He was busy as a beaver last year and took forever to do repairs in the neighborhood but he was back the other day and said its really slow right now so you might catch a break

Also try to get the longest warranty product you can on your pump and above ground electricals (controller) - 5 years is what we have on our new controller

Also our well was put in place about 10-12 years ago and we've been good below ground but tow neighbors just had their pumps replaced (same vintage) to give you an idea on longevity

This link will lead you to a viewer where you can search for wells in that area. The reports will tell how deep the wells are, their flow rate and who drilled them. You can search by grid on the map and the reports will give a description of where it was drilled. Sometimes you can figure it out and sometimes it is pretty cryptic.

I looked at a few around Voca and they seemed to be about 300-400 feet deep.

If it's for livestock you can get a big chunk of it paid for by the USDA
