Where are you at? Also we may need to define central texas. I am in mclennan county, by most accounts would consider central texas and only got .3. I think this was a huge miss by the models. Looks like San Antonio, Austin and east got all the rain

NW Comal Co. Extreme drought section of the current 2+ year dry spell.

Model showed 5+ inches between Fri PM and Sat PM

Currently sitting at 1.75", which is great. Thats the heaviest 24hr rain total we've had since 2020. But the models def got this wrong.

I was defining cen tex as more of Travis/Bastrop/Fay Co region which is currently getting drenched. A region that, in many places, has had 10+ inches in the past few weeks.

Just the way it goes, but the models all had the heaviest totals aligned with the heaviest hit drought areas. That simply didn't happen, and that sucks.

Rain accumulation forecast through next Tuesday. The Frio might be raging.

If this is the model being referred to, it's thru next Tuesday. It ain't over yet.

We were ok until today. We have reached saturation and have standing water everywhere. Friends places in palacios have a good 4" of water across their shop floor

Official report is 9" for him yesterday. This is west of Palacios close to Jackson county line. Storm hit Victoria county and then dropped down and hugged the water and flooded them.
Fields are still draining off from that rain, the additional inch we got this morning didn't help.

Can't find that exact map any longer (it was posted by the Space City weather guys). But this is the latest map on the NOAA website

Yea I totally agree. I keep believing these models before supposedly big rain events, and they always seem to miss the mark. I in no way hold them to be totally accurate, but man that can have some huge misses. Not to mention the unpredicted severe weather events and floods that no model predicted.

That area west of San Antone along with many other drainages need a bunch of runoff for these lakes. Most areas have plenty of ground moisture, it's the runoff that's missing.

Most droughts end with a huge rain and flood (or series thereof). I am still waiting for that

How low is Falcon? I'm thinking all that water going down the Rio Grande watershed isn't going to go well for anyone attempting a crossing by foot.

0.5" just east of Gatesville. Pretty much par for the course for us. Projections said 2" for Friday night and Saturday but I'll be surprised if we get much of anything additional. We need some runoff badly but it just will not happen for whatever reason. When I looked at the radar late last night I thought we would be in business but that wasn't the case.

McLennan County here. .2". Yes the models were a total flop. But I can't complain as we have gotten probably close to 7" at my house in the last month.

We hunt over near Goldthwaithe and had saw they were saying up to 5" of rain. Figured it would somehow miss us. Seems that area always has storms go around it. Hopefully we at least got a little out there.

Welp. That was that. So much for the drought killing rain event that was predicted to be.

We do not need any more rain in se tx. Corn, milo, and even rice crops need to dry out. Need to cut the first cleanup hay crop and then fertilize and spray the next. Everyone is out of round bales but can't get a dry field to get into. Will have one less cutting if delayed another two weeks.
