We were ok until today. We have reached saturation and have standing water everywhere. Friends places in palacios have a good 4" of water across their shop floor

Official report is 9" for him yesterday. This is west of Palacios close to Jackson county line. Storm hit Victoria county and then dropped down and hugged the water and flooded them.
Fields are still draining off from that rain, the additional inch we got this morning didn't help.
And another 3 3/4 inches in western Matagorda, pushing 15 inches total in the last 10 days.

Apparently all of our duck ponds down there, that were completely drained, are now full again

They are, all the fallow rice fields look like they are back in production.

Oh I bet! I wasn't joking - the ponds are literally full. Postponing some of the planned construction of a few of them too.

Will need to pump the water out of the aluminum bass boats before fishing next week once it quits raining temporarily. Just too wet to do anything else.

Weekend total in NB was 2.5" this morning since Friday. My parents are on a cruise in Europe and I've tried shielding them from the rain reports from the bayhouse in Indianola and their house in Cuero. Really disappointed about west of here bc we are itching to hit up friends lake house in Medina and a fishing trip for boys to Amistad. It's been way too long

The forecasted big event sure didn't put much water in the Leon for Lake Belton or any of the stock tanks I desperately need water in. At some point we have to get a good runoff event but no idea when that will be.

Looking back, I'm kind of shocked that the hailstorm in San Antonio in 2016 didn't get much mention at all. We got baseball and softball sized hail, but there was like one mention.

I sure hope this wet spell dries up in the lower brazos. River is too high for comfort if we get much more rain. What does the almanac/el nino spring/summer prediction look like?

El Niño, wet, supposedly through end of year from what I last saw. Who knows the frequency of rain, or the reality of that, since predictions seem to be off of late.

We had just moved into a new house in November and had to put a new roof on, completely out of pocket, in December. We decided on a metal roof with lowest gauge we could find. Dodged a serious bullet there. Only real damage was a broken window upstairs that wasn't even worth the deductible, so we didn't even file a claim. Every house for miles around needed a new roof, and you could tell which way the wind was blowing in our neighborhood because everyone with vinyl siding had a wall of Swiss cheese.

I gotta say that was probably the scariest storm I've ever been through.

I'm hoping for a wet summer. We're getting our backyard resodded, and I need all the help I can get from the rain.

New Braunfels people can thank the Diesel family for the rain. We sprayed for bugs today outside thinking we had a few days of dry weather and the bugs have been insane. Nope those bugs are laughing at us now.

Most of south central texas has gotten pretty good rain over the last month. It's been so dry we've needed this to get to the point in the future where there is any significant runoff. If this continues as predicted we should start to see river flow and lake levels start to recover.
