Dry again in New Braunfels. Back to a 10 day forecast with no rain chances.

This weather is good for 1, and 1 thing only - building a house.

I suppose we lucked out with that. But I'd take some building delays if it meant some relief for the scorched earth around here.

No rain, need it bad. Starting to have trees go dormant.

2.5 inches in Shepherd currently. We're in a flood and thunderstorm watch until noon.

Pretty nice little shower in Portland. Just enough to water the grass for a week or so, and enough to make smellbad madder than a puffed toad.

Weird year in the tropics but things will likely start picking up there in the next week or so.

I'd be fine if it laid off until September since I have a trip to the Caribbean planned for late August.

Meteorologist Justin Petrutsas
The latest long range model guidance is indicating that a cooler and wetter weather pattern will be returning to much of Texas by late next week. The large high pressure area that has been bringing us hot and dry weather for much of the summer is forecast to shift to the West Coast allowing an area of low pressure to develop over the state.

I'm outside for a birthday party for my 3 year old... I'm referring to rain totals. I'm sorry if you hear 1/2" and think of anything besides a basic measurement or rainfall total.

ETA - I know you were joking

I'm sorry, but I've tried and tried to understand this and I can't. Is this really saying that freezing temperatures (or very near) are the average for some parts of Spain in August?

Oops, I read it wrong. Thought it was saying the temperature was 30C as the high.

ETA: Just saw that Lisbon is seeing temps of 111F. So yeah, I definitely read that yet wrong. Haha.

Rained today for two minutes
Actual downpour for 120 seconds.

Most noticeable rain since early July and before that, probably April.

I'd like to think we get some in the next couple of weeks but I'm going to guess we won't get anything.

In 2011 we didn't get any rain all summer long but at least it's not 100 or more right now every day.

Jeez, 11 was brutal. I lost 35 mature oaks that summer.
