Driving down 6 now. There is a lot of damage just south of Navasota. Lots of huge trees are mangled and some structural damage.

They have no idea how close they were to being swept away. Just a little increase in water velocity and they would have been gone.

Yea I'm trying to decide the best way for us to go to Austin later as well....heard there were issues on 71 from i10. That was my planned route but now wondering if 290 is better

Is 6 still open? What about 290 and 1488? Stuck at the shop in tomball. House in magnolia water is a foot from the house and we can't get home anyway because everything is closed.

My buddy at TxDOT said that 290 was closed at the brazos so they could move cows out of the fields but that water hadn't got to the bridge yet.

He said there are reports of high water on 290 at 1488 and prairie view but they don't have a confirmation.
