Well, I read it that if you are in the Brazoria, Galveston area North through Houston to College Station you finna get about 5 inches of rain cumulative through Thursday.

Oh, I see. Not all colors on the map are on the legend. My guess that tan in East Texas is higher than the max listed and is why they note the higher total.

Ah I'm tracking now - they skewed the color scale to emphasize totals for houston area and friendswood.

The colors are the same across the map - they've just masked the counties that aren't in their area of responsibility which makes the colors look a bit off. The Houston NWS office is responsible for the counties outlined in the heavier black lines.

Thanks, Ursus, for referencing @TxStormChasers a week or so ago.
That's a good follow.
In a week I've seen them put out model graphics before NWS.
Plus they forward live stuff from chasers before the news reports it.

I have stepped away from FB but man I missed it (for the first time) this morning. It is a great resource for weather.

I don't twitter. I have a basic weather ap & the tornado ap to alert me to weather. Any other apps you guys recommend?

Not much in Calallen last night. Maybe 3/4 of an inch of rain and 3 inches of lightning. We have one hell of a training cell over us this morning. It looks like night outside and is pouring.
