You don't know what a wet spring even looks like. Try setting the record for the wettest year on record before July.

We're not coming off a 50 year drought. I suggest you invest in bottles and keep it down there.

Dude, I wish. If only Texags could get ahold of a oil pipeline no longer needed or that doesn't pass safety requirements that could get this water to California. We'd own that commie state harder than we do Colorado.

Thought that was already tried??? I received letters asking me to sell my "water rights" on our property for just that purpose for San Antonio. Some outfit calling themselves a "water alliance"????

Those letters were file 13'd upon receipt, so I don't have any to show, but I'd bet some other posters here remember.

Whats the latest? I'm about to drive from baton rouge to brenham. Any thoughts on how wet the ride will be? Will probably be in Houston in 4 or 5 hours. Partly cloudy with no rain here in Louisiana right now.

Good info on Belton and why they aren't releasing water for now.

Only advise is I have seen with this system that radar does not seem to accurately indicate the strength of tropical storm rain. Where a typical radar signature for heavy rain is red with thunderstorms, this storm has produced extremely heavy rain during green radar scans. There must be a disconnect in what radar is measuring versus the amount of rain these bands are producing.

I'm no radar expert, but I think it has to do with the thickness of the storm. These systems are so broad that it dulls the radars look into the storm to see the true intensity.

I think it's much like driving down the highway and looking for hazards ahead. Your sight distance becomes limited in foggy conditions. The thicker the fog, the less you are ahead until eventually you can see no more.

The radar images produced are based on particle size. A tropical heavy rain is full of many smaller rain drops. An afternoon thunderstorm with the "reds" often produce much bigger drops an can be further enhanced by hail as well.

You should've went and saw Boland last night. He put on a good show as usual and the weather was nice and cool after the rain!

My fiance made the same comment about his gray hair. Every time I've seen the fella he's been skinny but I've heard he fluctuates depending on the other stuff he may or may not be doing at the time...

South Texas got hammered. Edinburg is flooded.

Last night here in Concan, it rained so hard I thought the roof was going to cave in. So loud I couldn't sleep. My dry creeks are running.

Last 7 day total here was 2&3/4" west of Easterwood. The ground is so saturated that Iwon't be able to do anything around my place in terms of lawn maintenance for at least another sunny week.

Yeah man, some parts of the RGV got up to 7" yesterday, parts of Edinburg have 2-3' of water standing. And more rain is forecast today.

The areas north of the RGV, what they call the Ranch Country, has received more rain in the last 2 months than they have in the past 3 years. It is gonna be lush and green for a while up there.

Buchanan has basically been getting spit on all day. Started drizzling around 8am and hasn't stopped. But it's not much rain to amount to anything. News was saying larger storms may develop this evening, but we shall see.

Yes sir, that is what I have heard. I know the Ranch Country is about as wet as it ever has been, sans a Hurricane or big TS. Even wetter some claim because it has been going on for 2-3 weeks.
