What were his comments? I'd be willing to bet I agree with them. I can guarantee if they put a hiatus on Phil then the whole family will go on hiatus, and without Duck Dynasty A&E won't be getting any air time in my house because I'm pretty sure that's the only thing we watch on that channel.

I forgot who said it but I heard something that I thinks applies to every disagreement.

"We all are guaranteed rights. We are never guaranteed the right to not be offended."

The same people who scream about individual freedoms are the ones who are mad because he expressed his opinion about his religious and moral beliefs.

To me, it seems like a baited witch hunt. Something to try and get the masses and media pissed off at this guy who has done nothing but speak his mind the entire time. He speaks his mind on one of those "no no" topics and all of a sudden people are surprised at the answers. They knew exactly how this guy felt about that question.

He didn't disrespect or berate anyone for their beliefs. He even came back and had a media release today to clarify his statement. A+E is making a huge mistake.

Why doesn't the hetero community get so mad when gays express their beliefs? I'm just tired of anyone thinking they should push their beliefs on people and think others can't express their own opinions. We are all different and will always be different. It's not anyone's job to convince anybody else that their beliefs are wrong.

I've never sent an email about something like this but I just put together an email and sent it.

This country is going to hell in a hand basket when the vocal minority rules the roost. They are a bunch of rednecks with beards but I truly respected the principal and faith they stood behind on the show.

I am thoroughly appalled by the decision your network made regarding Phil Robertson. I am a huge fan of a lot of shows on A&E although I have only watched Duck Dynasty a couple of times. I have enjoyed it when I've been able, because of the values and honesty portrayed in the show.

To suspend Mr. Robertson over honest comments on his own beliefs is a sad sign of the direction of our society and is a ridiculous reaction to the vocal minority. The irony of it all is that the ones in outrage over the comments are the ones who always champion an individual's rights to their own beliefs.

Mr. Robertson said not one hateful word or disparaging remark. He did not attack anyone personally or any group as a whole. He simply stated his beliefs.

Your network should be ashamed.

From this point moving forward, my family and myself will no longer support your network due to your:

A.) narrow minded views towards someone who disagrees with your beliefs

And/or

B.) your willingness to back down due to the complaints from a very vocal minority. It shows an incredible weakness and lack of loyalty towards a product that has earned your network millions of dollars.

Just emailed A&E and I never mess with this sort of stuff. I hope many others do the same. You have to draw the line sometimes and this crossed it for me. It is incredibly intolerant of A&E to suspend someone for standing up for their beliefs.

I think this has the chic fil a effect. If Phil is attacked people will flock to the Duck Dynasty merchandise

Ironically, A&E just ran a promo for their new show, some crap about country beauty queens...and the "star" of the show just said it will make you "...Happy, Happy, Happy." They may claim Willie and co are the focus, but they get a hell of a lot of sound bites and advertising from Phil. They are in for a rude awakening, both from viewership and advertisers.

I'm wondering if the whole family is going to stand up and refuse to film anymore. Though I enjoy watching the show for the good values and a good laugh, I would wholeheartedly support the Robertsons shutting the whole thing down if the network really does try to remove Phil.

My rough draft.....


I'm writing to you today to express my extreme disappointment in your networks decisions to suspend a man who did nothing but share his own personal opinion, and might I say without being hateful or being judgmental. In the interview he even goes on to say,

“We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?”

I have family and friends who are homosexual, and while I don't necessarily agree with all of Mr. Robertson's beliefs, I do share some and STRONGLY believe in his right to them. Let us not forget that this country was founded on Christian values, and maybe there is something to be said of our society and it's constant distancing of said values. I am sad to say that until this wrong is righted A&E will be a network that will not be viewed in my home. I very much hope that the network sees the errors of it's ways immediately for this obvious lack of judgement.
