Not January of last year. It's from the January 2014 issue of GQ. The quotes were just released this week for the magazine that's hitting the racks this week.

I think this is really a counter "getting worked up" to the community that is getting worked up over it in the first place. it actually makes me feel good knowing that gay groups are flipping out about it because they have flipped out about everything and that, for the last decade, has succeeded in accomplishing nearly everything they WANT, not need. same with other left leaning groups and organizations, cause a big enough scene and you'll gradually break it down till it is only your way. then, if you do anything they dont like, youre in serious trouble.

its been time to say enough is enough. I dont force my ways on you or get in your way. stay the heck out of my way and stop messing with the things I like. dont like duck dynasty? change the channel to MSNBC or HGTV because I doubt you were watching the show that ends with prayer everytime if you dislike Christianity so much.

I go to a big 4 day concert in Nashville every year and this year a couple of the Robertson guys, I think Jase, Willy, and Si, hosted one the nights. During one of the breaks between performances, when it wasn't on TV, they came out and thanked everyone for watching their show and supporting them, despite them having long beards, hunting ducks, and praying at the end of every show. The crowd went nuts.

Strictly a PR move. He'll be back filming the show once everything dies down.

The gay movement will find something else to get their teeth on. Plus, once the Winter Olympics in Sochi starts, they'll be focus on that.

I haven't seen one gay group get up in arms over his comment nor have any of my gay friends on FB said anything other than "welp, that's his opinion". I think people are just looking for a reason to get worked up over something so stupid. Those are his beliefs and he's allowed to have them and express. A&E screwed the pooch by saying anything at all.

GLAAD did.

GLAAD is the gay equivalent of ACLU. Always looking for something to create controversy over. Don't let their far left ideals paint the gay community as a whole. Almost every gay person I know is a conservative save the obvious social issues.

I think for you to answer the question for yourself, you need to decide what it is that makes it wrong or right. For most people (in my opinion) wrong and right is based on either the Bible...or what the masses are doing.

Thats why being homo is wrong and filthy...because 90% of people aren't homo. Maybe we should apply the same type of criticism to people born without arms or legs, or perhaps mentally retarded children...I mean, they are weird right? Abnormal if you will?

Once again, he stated what he saw and/or believed.

If you want be gay, then be gay; if you don't, then don't.

All the national organizations who get their rocks off on attempting to lynch those who disagree with their beliefs via media outlets just see a redneck with some notoriety that will allow them to yell and scream and get a little more spotlight.

I have no doubt that Phil got along with blacks and considered himself in the same economic class. I also would not be surprised that he and they were happy with each other, that's the way it is out in the sticks.

Additionally would not be surprised that in his early life of football, illegal hunting, partying, boozing, etc. etc. that he didn't pay a heck of a lot of attention to the social and political issues of the day.

Bottom line: The "homophobic" slur didn't work, so now we're going to try "racist".

Life must be miserable for people who are so thin skinned as to be offended by anything he said. Funny how many episodes of Duck Dynasty, all of which will include Phil, A&E has scheduled to air between now and Christmas.

Glenn Beck has invited Duck Dynasty to his network if they're interested in saying adios to A&E.

I have a feeling that they will have their pick of networks when this settles down. I truly hope they tell AE to pound sand and find another spot and continue the show. I am not one for reality TV, but with a show involving God, guns and good folk from the south with a prayer at the end each night, I can get behind that.

Sent off my email expressing my disappoint about A&E's decision to remove Phil from Duck Dynasty. I also said that we would no longer buy Duck Dynasty merchandise, however we would continue to buy Duck/Buck Commander merchandise. We will also be boycotting all A&E programs until Phil was re-instated.

Has anyone been to the A&E website? Guess what image is the FIRST one in the lineup of their shows. Yup, Duck Dynasty, with Phil in it.

My opinion may offend some of you..but who cares..A&E has other shows and more money invested in its company than just Duck Dynasty..A&E had every right to suspend him, just like any other corporation has the right to suspend or FIRE someone that has publicly gone against or discredited the company. Sumlin has the same provision in his contract, if he were to say the same thing do you thing A&M would keep him on board? Its all about money and perception. Nothing about beliefs one way or another.

I am willing to think that all their other shows combined don't even come close to the revenue that DD generates. I respect your opinion but Phil didn't discredit nor go against the network. None of his remarks were about A&E.

I'd like to mention that they have one hell of a marketing company behind them..I wonder how much this little controversy has made them in merchandise sales.. not that Christians would ever use a clever marketing ploy at Christmas to make money, and say what they want with little or no repercussions..

If Phil had acted in the stead or represented A&E, you might have a point.

But he didn't - it was a independent interview in which he said something that a professionally offended group shockingly got offended by. They became predictably vocal, and A&E opted to handle it in a very piss poor manner in order to appease a group of people that probably has no clue A&E even existed prior to Phil's comments.

It is typical PC rampage by a vocal minority, and a lack of anything resembling a spine by A&E.

But you are right - they do have a choice and the made it. We also have a choice to voice our displeasure at A&E for how they handled this situation - and hopefullyenough people exercise their choice to act accordingly by denying A&E their patronage.

Choice....it works in more than one way.

Here is the problem with this mentality though - if you sit back quietly when the vocal minority gets worked up, the only voice heard is the vocal minority. And the only voice listened and catered to by whatever entity is the vocal minority.

And then we wonder why political correctness rules the day, why it is verboten to have the Ten Commandments displayed in public, why entities give in and take down anything Christian (which, by the way, is not a religion) related, why crosses at memorial cemetaries are ordered to be removed by judges, why homosexual behavior is openly shoved down our throats at every turn of the corner, etc.
