That's awesome. The no kids thing helps a lot. I maybe get an hour in the shop on weeknights and five hours each day on the weekend. That thing would probably take me five years.

When I was growing up my old man built an airplane in the garage. Some guys finished similar planes in a year, maybe 2, but they were all either retired or didn't have kids. Because my sister and I were in Jr. High, High School, and college during that period, it took my dad 10 years to finish his.

First time I've clicked on this thread and gotta say that's one of the coolest things I've ever seen someone build. Very impressive and great job.

About to add the second kid any day now... I have tons of unfinished projects. Amazing work though.

It's held up perfect. That was one of my biggest concerns, but I haven't had any problems. In fact we took it cross country this summer. The interstate in Tennessee sucks and beat the **** outta it. So bad that the face of a cabinet inside came off. Had to repair it when I got home. But the tile held up perfect.

I've got about $2500-$3000 in it.


I've made some upgrades along the way. Added door knobs to the cabinets pretty soon after getting it on the road. Recently I built a box and mounted a plug above the cabinets to charge phones. And I've added LED lights to the cabinets. They weren't really needed, but look cool.

Good to hear! I can start planning that part of my project now.

So this thread may have come to a halt - but I'm in the process of designing and hoping to build a teardrop camper. Does anyone know if the Harbor Freight trailers are good enough if I put better tires on it...or does some kind Aggie want me to pay you to weld me a strong sturdy one!?!? I'm being very serious.

Almost any town will have a trailer dealer. You could just go to one of them and get a flatbed trailer and build away. Or find one on Craigslist. I'd do that long before harbor freight
