I want to get my almost two year old son his first pair of cowboy boots for Christmas. The problem, is that his feet are the shape of a ham. I can't get him into anything at Cavender's and they don't carry wide children's sizes. I don't want to pay for custom boots as he'll grow out of them in a few months? Anyone been in this situation with an idea?

we had the same issue with our son, and didn't find any good answers for the boots. We actually had to go with Stride Rites for shoes, and they are stupid expensive for the amount of time a growing toddler can wear them.

The only good news I have to tell you is that our son is now 3 and his foot has normalized in size, so hopefully you will see the same outcome.

My son is 2, has wide feet. My wife bought him the john deere cowboy boots in 7.5 at cavendars and he's already outgrown them. She said she thinks they run wide. Not sure if they will fit your boy but they are yours if u want them.

Jobu, we have to do the stride rites too. Ridiculous to spend $40 on baby shoes but nothing else fits.

RMC, we tried the john Deere boots too thinking the same thing, but no dice. The only thing that fits are way huge on him and have two inches of boot on the toes. Oh well, maybe next year.
