He is talking about anything like punch, partagas, montechristo, cohiba, etc... If youve heard the name as a cuban and find it on the shelves here it most likely sucks. Just as rocky patel and macanudo do.

OT: Can I get some cigar help? I welcome my first child (boy!) into the world in a couple of weeks and plan to buy some smokes to mark the day. I want something nice but plan to buy 30-40 so I would prefer to keep it close to $10per but I don't want to cheap out on the big day.

Where should I purchase? Would a local shop cut me a deal (houston) or should I buy online? Any suggestions on the smoke? Some folks won't be seasonsed so I should probably keep it pretty mild.

You can check out the other cigar thread for some help, but I'm sure someone on here would send you something nice if you got in on this pass.

The recommendation that I always make is this, buy nice ones for the guys that smoke cigars and get some cheap but still good ones for your friends that don't smoke. If you give away 40 $10 smokes, there will be about $300 worth of cigars left in the ashtrays by the time you are done. Check out the other thread and we can talk about some specific recommendations.
