I have very sad news that "Big Ben" passed away this weekend.

For those of us who knew him personally, he was an exceptional guy! We met here on Texags and he was having trouble with his truck. I invited Ben to our house and asked Mr Dubi if he would help with the repair. Turns out there were multiple problems and approximately 8 hours later they were finished. He was so grateful for the help and that was the beginning of our friendship. We kept in touch via FB and text for the past 15 years so this is a hard loss for me since he is so young (early 40's).

Ben was a good dude, talked to him fairly regularly about work stuff. He called just the other day asking advice about changing jobs. We were going to grab dinner next time i was up in DFW.

Met him at a Crawl for Cancer in Dallas about 15 years ago. In line for the pisser, he looks at me and goes "You're Log!".

I vapor locked for a second, and was like "Well, yeah!". He introduced himself, and we had a quick laugh about the toolbox.

Was devastated this morning to find out about Ben. He's been my ride or die since Junior High and just an all around good guy. Could count of him for anything, a smile, laugh, story, or a hand. If you think the toolbox story was good, there's plenty more out there that only Ben could find his way into. Here's a pic of our "gang of 4" last year with Ben 2nd to left, and I'm far right.

Later, someone on this board made a very passing reference to a toolbox, I again referenced this thread, and got numerous howls. Oh, well. Those of us that know, remember it (and the man) well.

Absolute gut punch to hear Ben had passed away. I was an intern on one of his projects when I was in CoSci and worked with him at an electrical subcontractor for 3 years or so after I graduated. He was a great guy. Prayers for his wife.
