Last winter I did a sprinkler system for a hunting lodge/preserve south of San Antonio near Poth. He's going to host a wedding in March next year & would like to put down some perennial rye so the lodge looks sharp.

I'm thinking this should get done in early October after things cool down... but just wanted to ask the experts that live down towards that area. (Paging B-1 83!)

Thanks in advance!

Mid to late October will work great. Be careful that you get a perennial rye and not annual rye. If you can find a John Deere Lanscape store, get the three way blend of perennial ryegrass.

October is a great time. Just make sure that they are able to water it multiple times a day!
Triple Blend Perennial rye is what you want!
Put down an Organic lawn food like Lady bug or Milorganite and it really helps it come out nice.
Good Luck

I always plant rye grass right before the world series in October.

Mid October will work fine. Why not sod that sucker with St. Augustine (or are they wanting lush green in March)?
