I would say I'm about 50% through this, and this game is perfect for anyone who loves the dungeon style games like Zelda, Ori, or Hollow Knight. Doesn't tell you anything when you start, the story is all inferred as you go along.

I tried to like it...but playing on a PC sucks. No mouse support and I can't stand controllers. So moving around having to push 2 buttons to walk straight is annoying. Looks pretty cool though.

Finished this game last week. Awesome game. The tone shifts pretty hard later in the game. You can get the bad ending, or go into the heavy puzzle solving for the good ending. The tone shift has a GREAT moment that made my wife and I go "WTF?!"

I've been trying to dive deeper into the lore, but there seems to be a lot the developers have left intentionally open. Lots of little details that point to a deeper backstory, but not a lot of it confirmed. Even reading the fully translated instruction manual leads to more questions than answers!

I'm playing Hollow Knight right now and thought it sucked and was boring at first but damn if it didn't come around. Hard as hell to boot.

I'll give Tunic a try later this year.

Gamepass is full of these "indy" games, many of which are considered the best of the best in recent years.

If you haven't tried BroForce, you should. It's a really addicting game and any kid of the 80s/90s who liked action movies (which was 95% of us!) will love the characters!

It IS! Definitely a indie game recommendation from me. Good story and action, very Zelda like. Run through an area, find the boss hideout, clear it out. Get new items and abilities along the way to open new areas including some backtracking. Give it a go!

Indie game wise? Hollow Knight, Axiom Verge 1 & 2, Hades. All very different syles of games, and all fantastic! Hollow Knight 2 (Silksong) is in development, but no clue when it will be released. Hades 2 is currently out in beta!

ETA: The two Ori games are also a lot of fun, and Shovel Knight for some good retro action!

Hades is awesome as well, but it's a different kind of game than Tunic or the like. It's a Roguelike where you are beating it over and over to advance the storyline.

It took a couple of months of playing to unlock everything, would recommend.

If you haven't played them already, both of the Ori (Ori and the Blind Forest, Ori and the Will of the Wisps) games are incredible with gameplay challenge, animation, and music.

You like metroidvanias, have you tried Animal Well yet? Changes up the formula by removing combat, but adds amazing puzzles.

Zelda is my fav franchise. I'm wasn't even sure if I like metroidvanias but haven't played a lot of them. Loved Hollow Knight though.

Started Animal Well last night. Didn't get very far yet, but it reminds me a LOT of Celeste. Another indie game, pixel style, lots if challenging platforming. Give it a shot!

Dude I love Celeste. Great game!

The other metroidvania I really like is Chasm by BitKid. Procedurally generated and great sprite art/animation.
