Does anyone need a short mount? Took 2 months to get here and sure enough it's not going to work. Happy to help someone else that needs it and doesn't want to wait...
I was looking for a use for my old Orbi system. Sounds like I found it! Thank you.tfunk02 said:
Mine is set up and running through my OLD Orbi system now. Getting much better speed than the RV StarLink system I returned. Plan to move over to a Ubiquiti AP system soon...
I have no obstructions at all. Speeds seem to average about 70mbps. I've seen up to 120 and as low as 12 at 6pm yesterday. The Orbi systems have an issue with pulling up the dishy stats that I have not figured out yet, so I am not sure on drop outs. I have not noticed any when I have used it. The latency has been as low as 25ms but seems to average about 40. Gaming is still better on my $30/month AT&T hotspot so far, but I am hoping with more satellites and freaking laser beams things will get better.El_duderino said:
How's the speed and latency? Any dropouts?
Go into the Starlink app and disable the factory wifi. I'd also turn off the dish heater. No reason for that 98% off the time in Texas. Once you turn off the factory wifi, plug the ethernet adapter into your Orbi's wan port and it should pick up a 100.x.x.x IPCowtownAg06 said:
I'm setting mine up this weekend (or next). I have the ethernet adapter and an Orbi. Any other issues getting the Orbi to interface?
You're going to be roaming/RV service if you do that. Shouldn't have any problems, but your speeds will be deprioritized, and they're going to charge you more money for roaming.winmck said:
Just got my notification that my order will ship. I used my Matagorda address a couple of months ago but I plan on trying to set it up in Richmond. Hopefully, no problems.
If you just change your address in your account it should work without changing it to the portability plan as long as there is room in that cell.txyaloo said:You're going to be roaming/RV service if you do that. Did a quick set up yesterday in western Washington Co. my two speed tests were 70 down/5 up. I was hoping for better but that is plenty for what I need. Later this week I'll actually mount to the house and set up the mesh system.

It will probably require you to add portability to your plan.
There are 4 services. Home, Home w/ Portability, RV, and VIP. The difference between RV and Portability is that you have a service address where your traffic doesn't get deprioritized.
70 is about the max I've seen. Last few days, it's been around 30-40 even after a stow/reboot with zero obstructions. Just ran a speedtest and it was 25 down/7 up. Sadly, my hotspots are faster. Grandfathered Verizon UDP in same spot was 125 down/29 up on 4gCowtownAg06 said:
