Thanks Fido, but don't think that will help me. My problem (as it currently stands), is that both consoles would need to be logged into the same gamer tag......which it can't do. I can easily set up another gamer tag for the fortnite kid, but all of his progress is associated with the original gamer tag. So I'm trying to figure out how to move his fortnite progress/skins/etc. (without it being completely erased) to a new gamer tag.

It seems like it can be done (see below link), but it's not completely clear.

EDIT: But I will try that process. That would keep me from having to need 2 xbox live memberships.

Interesting new way to practice. I have liked zone wars more then the BR mode recently but we rarely have enough players to make it worthwhile.



Now we just need a bot to get people set up on one of the mini map BRs.

Played last night. Overall really happy with matchmaking. It seemed like I was playing against players at my level. Never got edited on and trapped killed in less then 1 second. For all the crap Epic has been getting, I have to give them props on this one.

However, new controller sensitivity settings don't feel right. I missed a lot of shots I would normally make. Found this video this am and going to give it a try tonight.

After struggling to hit targets in squad games last night, I found this video and adjusted my settings. Did a warm up course and then did some Solos. It felt better and a managed to get a solo win. I still think I'm going to do the full revert in the Upshall video but who knows.

Only had time to play a couple rounds of the storm wars With the new settings, but it only took me one round to change to Legacy. Went from 0 kills the first round to 4 the next. I think it's great and also love having storm wars as an option without needing friends online

Apparently skill based match making actually does work. I finally got my first solo win since week 1 of this season. It was a good mix of players but not heavy with sweats and I managed to pull off a 6 kill win. About time.

My boys aren't happy about it - no more instant gratification of winning 10% of the time or so.

I'm glad I stopped playing altogether, because we share the same account. I'd get demolished.

I do find it funny to listen to streamers and sweaty kids complain about not having noobs to destroy anymore. For players like me with .9 k/d ratio and a whopping 25 wins, skill based match making was long overdue. I am actually motivated to play solo matches again.

I feel like skill based matchmaking should be another game mode and not the default mode. That way people could make the decision to play skill based matches or consciously decide to risk running in to good players in pub matches.

This is coming from me, just a decent player. Not too bad and not too good.

That's the issue. Arena mode is skill based matchmaking and pub matches were not. Now that they're both skill based, it makes no sense to keep arena mode. Pubs are now basically arena mode without siphon. They're probably waiting until season 11 to update the playlist and adjust things.

Except that arena wasn't really sbmm. It was hype points earned simply by lasting in the game. You were matched up with players that weren't necessarily of a similar skill level.

At a certain point you had to have enough skills to last until endgame and get enough points to be a net positive after the bus fare though. Once you reached far enough up there were no noobs left and it was a grind. It was loosely skill based and not specifically sbmm like pubs are now for sure.

This for sure. If you're skilled enough the matches will all be super sweaty. Like I said earlier, I'm nothing special and have noticed how much the game modes have changed. Solos lobbies get down to 12-15 really quick and the duos lobbies are like scrims when it gets down to the last 6 teams or so. If it's going to be that sweaty they should be siphon back since you theoretically can't go bot farming in pubs, which was one of the reasons they mentioned removing siphon.

I could play arena for siphon but for some streamers I watch they can't even que up for an Arena game in under like 8-10 mins. Hope you're right and they update game modes with season 11.

One thing I forgot to add, the sbmm is cross platform so I can end up going against some good PC players that I feel like can out build/out edit me with ease. That part is frustrating.

Wow, this brings back a lot of memories. It is interesting to see the transition of fun to rage over the seasons. I had also forgotten how fun it was to watch doc play Fortnite. Dude is pure entertainment.



Hopefully season 11 brings back some of the fun.

Fingers crossed for season 11 as well. It was when fortnite introduced the World Cup when people starting going full try hard to get a piece of the pie. If there was only Friday fortnite style and not World Cup money, then I think the game would be in a different state. I'm also in the camp of hoping for a brand new map and fresh start

I recently got back into the game thanks to controller support on ipad. Haven't received a dub yet but made final two on about 5-6 games so far. Biggest change for me recently has been the adoption of the builder controller layout... allows me to post up some protection almost instantaneously where previously I was having to cycle through the different build options.

Still am **** at this game compared to most, but I am slowly warming up to it.

My kids are in full meltdown mode after watching the live event and the coming of the black hole.
They're freaking out that this is the end of Fortnite and won't listen when I tell them that there's no way someone slaughters a cash cow like this without another something in place to continue printing $$.
