A little frustrating that the "deal damage at loot lake or viking" wouldn't count at loot lake. However, that led to one of my best games in a while. I decided to solo squad and land at Viking to knock it out since I couldn't get a circle there in Team Rumble and nobody else was online. I immediately eliminated a player and got the 200 damage, so I quickly launch padded to Tilted (figuring that was my best bet in solo squad). I ended up taking out an entire squad before I was killed. 5 elims on a solo squad for me is pretty good, and it felt great.

I'm outta my league venturing to this Forum, but you folks helped me out a few years ago regarding Clash Royale and/or Fortnight (I don't remember which) and my son in terms of downloading, safety, etc.. He's come a long way in gaming, I think. He made this video and I thought I'd share - maybe it will help, maybe not. Don't mean to spam or clutter this thread. I found a great practice map. It has a 5 minute warm up course, aim course, target range, editing course, etc.

I'll have to give that one a go. I feel like it always takes me 2-3 games to get somewhat warmed up

Great map. Thanks for posting. After doing a few sections I realized I need a lot of work.

Key changes:
1. Decreased mobility of BRUTE.
2. Decreased lethality of the BRUTE.
3. Decreased spawn rate of BRUTE.
4. Removed farming capability while in BRUTE.
5. Increased health of BRUTE.
6. Decreased amount of mats needed for overshield in BRUTE.

My guess is you will see fewer people actually use the BRUTE now. Epic said they want to make it a more strategic decision to utilize and make it great against buildings/builds, but less effective against players.

Just make it an LTM if there's future challenges that involve the mech. They don't have a place in the game. They "nerf" it, but yet increase the health of it. 1000hp wasn't enough? Don't bring back the junk rift either.

Going to try the setting he suggest for aiming and see how it feels. That strat is pretty wild too! I may just drop Retail more than I have been lately and try to harvest the crystal spawn things.

I saw this and made the change, but didn't notice much of a difference I don't think. Who knows. I also tried turning "Auto aim in edit mode" on after seeing a video where NickMercs made that change, but I quickly changed it back. It made editing corners faster, but shooting someone after making an edit more difficult because it pulls your curser to the edit.

Yeah once I changed that auto aim in edit mode off there was no going back. Having it on made it really hard for me to edit ramps that I was standing on.

Working on getting better is starting to feel too much like work. What is really frustrating is working on a skill like building only to have it taken away. It makes all that effort a waste of time. Don't really know how much Fortnite I have left in me.

Same here. It's sucks because it's such an awesome game. The things they're doing just don't make sense. It's back to the same **** fighting against the mech now with slower building and the explosive radius increased. They buffed the mech because they weren't useful enough after the nerf apparently. Not to mention the OG location theme for the season has been a giant letdown. I guarantee you that all you need is a minigun to win now

I have had zero interest in playing this game since the mech came out. What a joke.

They've ****in ruined this game. I enjoyed it so much from season 1 to season 5 and then it just started going downhill. They're so out of touch with the players above the age of 10 and it's sad.

I just don't understand catering to ****ty players. It's 2 years old. If you still suck after this amount of time, then there's no help. Most people who play this game or any game aren't that great to start out with. It's the playing and practicing that makes you better, not solely relying on rng or being helped out by the developer with handicapping better players like what they're doing now. There's also even more mechs per game now which is the last thing it needed

I'm a crappy player and have no problem admitting it. But even I have had a solo victory in every season since I started playing in season 4. It doesn't take a mech to do it or other crappy OP weapons. My building is rough but serviceable enough. My aim is okay. I only succeed by game sense and luck. It should be enough for any mediocre player to win.

Nah, this is what you get when those little kids' parents' credit cards are the biggest source of income for Epic.

I reported to my ship, so I'm not getting to play much now. This update sucks since I just learned how to actually win build fights, ramp rush with ramp, wall, and floors, and quick edit with a controller.

The only side of this that is good, is when you have someone in a 1x1 and they turbo build so fast (faster ping), that even with a 150+ rounds of and smog you can't get the kill.

I do find it incredibly frustrating that Epic is so headstrong on abandoning their main fan base and catering to the new kids who want a win without putting in the time to get better.

Essentially, they say they are still playing with it in an attempt to continue to allow people to build 90s, etc, but don't want people to win a contested wall simply due to their ping. We shall see. With the changes Fort it's is making this season, they may lose more people than they gain.

So they reverted the change from yesterday and introduced a new method for deciding how a wall gets taken. Seems like a better action than what was introduced yesterday. Helps out the players that aren't playing on super low ping.

What Changed?

• Turbo Building timing for placing subsequent pieces changed back to 0.005* seconds from 0.15 seconds.
• After a structure is destroyed, there will be a timer of 0.15 seconds before another piece can be placed in the same location.
  
  • If two players are attempting to place a piece at the same time and location where a piece was just destroyed, a random roll will determine whose piece is placed, instead of ping playing such a large role.

That's better. I don't know why they can't provide an explanation with big changes right away instead of waiting. I'll be curious to see how this affects things since I'm usually around 100 ping

Need help from you Fortnite experts again. I have 3 kids. A couple of years ago, they got an xbox for christmas. I had an xbox profile for myself, and then one for the kids. Looking back now, I wish I had made each their own profiles. It would have saved me alot of the headaches I'm having now. Anyway, each kid played various games, and game progress was saved to that one xbox profile. One kid becomes a fortnite player, which was set up under that one xbox profile. Due to circumstances I won't go into details here, fortnite kid decides to buy his own xbox with money he saved up. However, to keep all his progress/skins, he needs to log into xbox under that same profile. This is usually ok, but lately the other kids are playing other games on the other xbox, which has their game progress saved under that same xbox profile. Obviously, they can't both be logged in at the same time.

I had hoped that I could just copy or save progress from one profile to another (given it would all be under a microsoft family account). Nope....microsoft doesn't allow that.

Doing some research on epic games, it appears all the progress/skins/etc. is saved to the epic games cloud, not the xbox cloud. It also appears you can link your epic games (fortnite) account to a different xbox profile. But reading through some message boards, it sounds like that process has worked for some, while others have lost everything!!

Have any of you guys had a similar situation? If so, did you find a solution? I'm willing to give this epic games linking thing a try, but my son would be devastated if he lost all of his stuff.

You should be able to set things up to play the same game on 2 different Xboxes. I don't know why Microsoft makes things so difficult.
