Didn't really start playing Fortnite until last season. Picked up the free Battle Pass that they were giving out and it has been pretty fun beating the challenges. I don't play with a mic, have everyone on mute and only play random squads so I just stick to Team Rumble. Anyways, because I am a great father I let my 5 year old daughter play yesterday. Typically she just chops down some trees and builds a "house" to hide in. I heard someone coming up from behind her and told her turn around. Somehow she spun around and hit him with an assault rifle and got an elimination. Then she followed it up by continuing to Loot Lake and catching someone 3 times with the assault rifle for another elimination. I've never been so proud.

My random squad did the conga last night and made it to the final 4 teams until some zero fun people killed us
Haha. It is amazing how fast they can pick it up. I'll never be good, just because I play like an 80s kid with hands in the shapes of claws from a million hours of NES gameplay. Plus a brain that can't seem to fathom how to move, look around, and shoot at the same time.
Anyone else having trouble logging in this morning after the update? I know they were promoting an Avengers based thing. I'll be pissed if they deleted half the accounts randomly in a "snap" like event.

I've played this mode at least 10 times and still haven't gotten the Ironman Repulsors.

They're rare but work similar to homing missiles. Easy to get your 1K damage once you get them.

I did. Pretty cool. Interesting to see the overwhelming majority of people that wanted the drum gun back. No clue how much the map will change with season 9
I was the lone one attacking the infinity blade pillar.
As an LTM the sword was fun, but in regular matches it was way OP and unfair. Especially now with the decreased farming rate. The person with the sword could get max mats way faster.
The bow and arrow are way OP. I'm averaging 20 kills now in 20v20 when I get one of these.
Most people aren't popping shield in team rumble, so anything that can do over 100 damage will just be 1 shot kills all the time
Sure, but compared to a sniper rifle, it reloads faster and you don't have to be precise.
Competition seem way tougher recently? Think all those people that tried Apex are back?
I wouldn't say the competition is tougher, but the fact that Tilted is now gone as well as most of retail is causing players to spread out across the map. We played duos/squads last night to get the overtime challenges done, and there was only one game where we weren't contested off the drop. Lucky, junk, and even haunted all had multiple teams drop there.

Yeah.... they just changed the game dramatically. All of the rotation (wind turbines, floating platforms, vents, etc.), drum guns back, no GOOD pump. The map is getting too cluttered with THINGS. Even with the updates to Tilted and Retail, they just look over complicated and cluttered. Watched a little stream and the game already looks LESS fun. We will see though. Also, the battle pass skins aren't good again this season. Not sure what EPIC is doing but it looks like they had a golden game in Season 4 and 5 and have slowly decided to warp and twist their game into something I don't want to play like I used to.
What if you could collect enemies' reboot card and reboot them onto your squad?
No battle pass for me this season after this garbage news. Before you know it, there won't be any guns left from the beginning seasons. Seems like they're just catering to new players again by taking out the pump which rewards you if you hit your shot.
Exactly. I would shift the best seasons to 3-4 in my opinion, but way too much going on with the game. It might've been okay if they brought back the heavy shotgun, but instead they replace it with some **** new gun. Bring on MW4 in a few months.

Oh I'll play, just won't spend any money on it. I just did 4 OT challenges to get the new ember variant. Looks like the new meta will be drum/tac/smg
Squads competition is pretty weak right now. I got 2 squad wins on day 1 and I only had 1 elimination in each of those.

I think I'm going to give it a go. Played 6 solos last night and got a 2nd and a 3rd. No umbrella yet. On both of those games I had a combat shotgun and missed a lot of shots. Both times winner had less then 50 health. Had I gone straight to the drum gun I likely would have a win.

I'll probably hop on tonight for a bit. Haven't played at all yet. To Crottys point about it being easier- Watched Nickmercs while bored at work and he was going off with multiple 20+ kill games while doing random squads and trios. That would have been unheard of in season 8. I think I saw enough to not even pick up the new shotgun though.
I decided to take a break from the game and not play in Season 9. From the videos I've seen with the changes, I don't think I'll miss it too much. It seem like a drastically different game compared to when I started playing at the end of Season 3.
Due to travel for my job, I haven't been home to play since the end of season 7. What I miss the most was the TexAgs squad games we had going. We built up a good team with solid camaraderie.
Aside from the pump being gone, I'm having fun with it. Always good when we have a Texags squad/duo going. I think we've got a squad and duo win so far.
Pump being gone and drum gun being back absolutely ruin the game for me.
Probably in the minority here, but I'm actually really enjoying this season so far. The new shotgun took some getting used to but I do like the range it has. The mobility is pretty great too.
