I typically knock the challenges out in a day or two, then just play normal the rest of the week. I like the challenges.

I haven't really noticed a difference in quality of opponents, but I just got a solo showdown victory. From my understanding you get points for your finish in the first 25 times you play. Does anybody know if there is a live ranking somewhere?

Yeah I like them as well. It just seems like challenge locations are so overcrowded like the haunted hills one you mentioned

I found a leaderboard just through google, but not sure if it was from this current solo showdown or the first run of it. You get points for every elimination as well.

Good news? When we stopped playing due to PSN about to be down for maintenance, I got the Haunted Hills achievement in about 15 minutes through 3 games (2 kills/1 kill/2 kills).

Bad news? Made it all the way to me and one other guy in the 3rd solo match....took a risk knowing I'd take fall damage and took WAY more than I thought I would and knocked my health down to 13.

Still had a shot at it and lost.....

*sigh* I'll get a solo win at some point.

It is called fall bloom.

I one time "slid down" the mountain at Haunted Hills behind the church. I was in a 1v1 with a guy at the bottom. I took zero damage and killed him for the win. I'm shocked I wasn't reported for hacking but I suppose epic knows it's a problem.

There was also a time when I slid down the side of a "mountain" and didn't take any damage, but an unnamed teammate did the same thing and took fall damage. I think the game just knows greatness when it sees it and decides not to touch that person.

Are you saying your teammate is touched? Sounds like the kind of guy who would launch a grenade in a 1x1 box to thank you for reviving him.

I think fall damage being kind of random makes the game more fun. There is a real thrill in deciding whether to go for it or to build on the way down just in case.

I saw a good strategy for duo/squads. We always split who will stack minis, big shields, med kits, etc., which is smart. However, they (The Gamer Couple) recommended splitting minis among all teammates because you can use them in a pinch during a fight and it may be the difference between getting knocked or not.

So, if we do that, then we will all have that one space taken for minis and have to balance out our other four items between each of us to insure we have someone who has grenades or rockets, someone with a sniper/hunting rifle, and at least two who have good weapons for rushing.

We do similar. If one guy is already carrying med kits, we give them all of ours. Then, we try to balance big guns so that each person only has one type of big gun. For example - I'll take the sniper, another person has the rocket launcher, etc.

Later in the game, we usually dump med kits for extra grenades or other items that we pick up off of bodies. Usually when it's down to 4-5 people, a med kit is worthless.

We typically do the same, but haven't been splitting the minis. I think that is a smart play.

Splitting minis is a necessity if you have enough of them. We used to not do that as well and someone would die from not having heals, and then the teammate bringing heals would die too because of the bad spot he was put in.

Glad to hear they worked out for you. I used Control Freaks on my Xbox when I used to play BF1 but hadn't purchased them for my PS4 until recently. I feel I have been much more accurate since getting them and I'm starting to see by k/d ratio come up (it really had no other direction to go!?!).

I played some solo today and in 1v1s, I laid into people with the SMGs and they still killed me. 1 specifically made me mad. I hit a guy with the green hunting rifle, then plucked him a couple of times with my legendary scar. So he literally had no health. I rushed him (knowing he was popping shield). I unloaded on him at point blank range with the legendary SMG and he still killed me with his drum gun (I was 100/92) entering the fight. After I died, his health was 12/12.

I should have built up and played a little smarter when I rushed in, but there is no way I should have died faster than him when we were unloading into each other and he started at a max of 100/12 (assuming he popped 2 bigs and not just minis).

After that, I ran blue pump and got 3 straight kills (2 with pump and 1 with hunting rifle). I decided to pick up an smg and immediately got into another fight. 1 pump to the back of his head and switched to the green smg to finish him off and he killed me with a drum gun.

I'm done with the smg as well.

Jet Pack Rockets has been the most fun I have had with this game. I have been having fun, but last night was a blast. Took building completely out of the game and for me brought me back to halo team rockets. I wish there was a double kill achievement and badge.

Has this mode been done before? Are they going to do a pistol/sniper mode to finish off the other achievements?

My favorite LTM is playground. I had about an hour yesterday afternoon, so I dropped in and worked on ramp rushing, to include when someone puts a floor above you and you have to quickly try to get out and regain high ground.

I got pretty dang good at building a ramp with walls in front of each section while I was rushing.

I also did something similar to the video FIDO posted about the SMGs. As his video showed, Tommy Gun > SMG of any color. Regardless of the distance. Until I get a tommy gun, I'm going to start carrying a shotgun (even a pump) over an SMG.

The SMG is still a better gun to have than a shotgun. That hasn't changed. Unless it's a heavy shotty, they're extremely inconsistent.

What's up with this? I was knocked and my teammate came to save me. I thought he got some clean shots, but he was taken out. I didn't understand how he lost so I checked the replay... All but 1 pellet land on the guy, but he gets no damage. What can cause this?

Some streamers said they have seen the shotguns (pump in particular) occasionally shoot "blanks."

My guess is lag. I've noticed that when I occasionally lead the target I get better results than when I swear I'm hitting them.
