Yeah. You have to consume it immediately and it lasts for only a short period. I could see this kind of item expanding, though. Imagine a crystal that gives you a force field for a little while where you are totally invincible or super speed.

I wouldn't be opposed to super speed for 10-15 seconds when trying to outrun the storm. It would have to be offset though where you either can't shoot while running that fast or your aim is ridiculously off. Overall, epic has done a great job of quickly changing things if/when they give too much of an advantage.
Was watching Ninja's stream earlier and his squad was kicking around the idea of EPIC having one of the separate game modes where you could use them outside of their localized areas in the game. Most streamers seem to really like Season 4 changes so far from what I've seen.
Do any of you play the pve Save World?
I don't only bc I haven't paid for it.

Thats good information - thanks. I think I'm going to get it so I can get in more practice. I either get eliminated quickly in the scramble for weapons or O land by myself and spend the whole game running to the circle and eventually get sniped. Neither are much fun and I'm not getting quality experience.

They cycle through different modes pretty regularly. They've had 50v50 twice, teams of 20 or 25, sniper rifles only, explosives only, pistols only, etc. at different times.
The key is to land in between those two extremes.

The "Companion for Fortnite" app is pretty awesome. You can keep track of your challenges, see the map, and compare weapon statistics on your phone. I like seeing the list of challenges while I play.

Play around with your settings. There are lots of videos on YouTube that give advice that may help your aim. Also try recording your gun fights to review if you are consistently behind (turn up sensitivity) or ahead (turn down). I play on a PS4 with a 4-5 sensitivity on the controller, a .55 when aiming down sights, and I think .65 on scopes.

The end of that video is what is a turn off for me for this game. I really don't want a Bob-the-builder combined with my shooter games.

Had a minute at lunch, so I logged in via the iPhone app and played a quick game to check out this hidden gem:
Turns out to be true. I then proceeded to get 4 kills (the bus route started right by the prison). However, my battery was almost dead on my phone so I built a ramp to the clouds and jumped to my death. I really wish I could have finished that game.
Regardless, the tweet is true.
Edit to say that you have to have that background image equipped for it to work.

In all seriousness, I wish they would allow cross platform between XBox and PS4. If appears as though PlayStation is the only party blocking it right now.

It was unlocked for one weekend, which Epic said was an accident. Consoles can play with computers, but can't play cross console.
Bought the battle pass for season four today. Been binge playing and actually managed to get back to back victories playing random squad. Crazy.

There's supposed to be a rank that you can find on top of one of the prison towers if you have that image set as your loading screen, but I checked all four towers and didn't find anything.

If you have the season 4 battle pass and complete all of week one challenges during week 1, you equip the background image shown in the upper left of that screen shot. Then drop onto the upper right tower at the prison. A gold star will appear and you search it the same way you would a chest. It gives you 10 battle stars, which is a free tier.
Finally!!!! The stats are hilariously bad, but the feeling of getting your first is euphoric.

I got knocked out of a game in 4th this weekend and kept watching. Guy who killed me got in a gun fight with a guy spamming rockets. Guy kills his opponent right before taking a rocket to the face. The winner was sitting in a bush with zero kills!?! The only stat that really matters at the end of the game is "#1 Victory Royale".
