Put about 5 hours into it last night (which is rare for me in one evening, but the family is out of town this weekend) and really enjoyed it. Graphics look great by my non-snobbish standards - lighting is awesome, weather is fun and interesting, semi-destructible environment is nice and pretty. I'm sure there'll be some minor improvements there once the full version is released as well. Like the feel of the game - shooting seems smooth and the gun/gear upgrade system is easy enough and yet has enough options to make it interesting for a while. Enemies seem to take/deal an appropriate amount of damage to make it challenging and yet somewhat realistic (not as spongy as I expected anyway).
Dark zone was fun with a squad to four Ags. I had ventured in there solo earlier but got scared and ran away back to the "safer" non-pvp maps. With a group of four or even one buddy it's challenging - never can tell when the dude you just ran past doing jumping jacks will turn on you to steal your loot. You can be the ultimate good guy and help randoms you find wandering around or be a ******* and jump unsuspecting n00bs and kill them and loot their corpses while laughing all the way to the extraction zone. I do hope they add some missions and other stuff to do there - seems like there could be a lot more baddies then there are currently - especially if this dark zone is supposed to be all dangerous and stuff.
The DLC news is kind of concerning though - new game modes really aren't what I was wanting. I want new areas of the city to explore and new missions to finish. Playing the same maps in just a slightly different mode doesn't sell me on paying $25 an installment every couple of months. I'll try to get more info in the next week or so, but if that's all they're offering, I'l probably downgrade my order from the gold edition.
