If anybody is interested, Humble Bundle has Tom Clancy game bundles this week. The "pay higher than the average" bundle contains a beta key for The Division.
quote:No, but I'm impatiently waiting, checking Reddit every day. The alpha was pretty cool.
Any word on when this beta goes live?
quote:Well, no one really knows this. The open world seemed pretty large in the Alpha, especially considering that there are no vehicles in the game, so you're walking everywhere. There was a ton of verticality to the design - as far as I know you can not only walk for dozens of blocks, but you can also get up on top of any building.
I remember the trailer for it, but do you think it will have enough content and that the open world will be big enough?
quote:If Destiny is any indication, we will need to make an official ps4 thread.
Is this the Xbox Division thread?
quote:I'm waiting on the beta next week. If I really like it, I'll pump some more money into it and switch to the gold edition. Maybe I'll actually play this one.
Probably going to preorder for the XB1 using the Amazon Prime discount. Trying to make up my mind between the regular edition or gold (dlc season pass). Any thoughts on value of the dlc?

So far, most of the trailers have been filled with some very dramatic walking....(I've already preordered, and looking forward to it).
quote:Yeah, the chatter on the Destiny Ps4 thread seems to be we are all getting it. With squads of 4, my bet it will be easier for you to find a game with some of the late nighters!quote:quote:If Destiny is any indication, we will need to make an official ps4 thread.

A couple of decades removed from playing video games I told myself I was going to buy a game system when the graphics reached a certain level of realism. The Snowdrop trailer for The Division was exactly what I was looking for and the only game I have really been interested in playing since getting a PS4.
Knowing I would suck horribly having never played an fps I started with Killzone to run around solo and just get used to shooting stuff. Then I bought Destiny specifically for the multiplayer. What a crappy experience that was just trying to become good enough to have fun. And given the time difference, I played with some very bizarre people--always from the Midwest--where sometimes we would sit and look at the scenery. What the hell! I live in Hawaii. I don't need to traverse the digital landscape and contemplate life while admiring a fabricated view (not the realism I was looking for). I just want to get better at pvp.
So, I've preordered myself (going agains the buyer beware beliefs I was raised with). Here's hoping that The Division is everything I expected
that I might find the time to team up with some of y'all
and I can actually play. LOL
quote:After playing the alpha, I see this as a primarily single-player game with a traditional open-world campaign. Unless that's wrong, there is no reason to think of the game as a race to the best gear, etc.
That'd be nice. With all the info coming out about the dark zone my fear is it'll be like Destiny where I'm the ghetto character with all the second rate gear that everyone else dumped after the first 24 hours of gameplay and a stat padding machine in pvp.

I'm thinking I'll go ahead and preorder the gold edition using the Amazon discount, play the beta and then downgrade if I'm still unsure.
quote:I didn't play the alpha, looking forward to the beta next week, but based on the game play I've seen I don't think lone wolfing it in the dark zone is an option. Though, like I said that's just based on watching game play and it taking lots of bullets to drop enemies from what I've seen.
