I wouldn't draft an RB early unless our OL is fixed through FA and there are no WRs left. It's a deep draft for RBs. Jeanty is not coming into a Zeke or Saquon-like at Philly situation. Take an OL or WR and grab one of the top 6 RBs in a later round.

I think the o line, given who we have hired, should take a huge step next year. I have no problem taking another at 12, but I also want to see what this staff can do with what we have. We've invested so much in the o line the past 4 years.

If he's the missing, sure-thing piece, then take him. I don't see him as a Zeke-like situation where we had everything in place and all we really needed was an RB to take the pressure off Romo. Dak walked into a perfect situation when we drafted him. There's a reason a 4th round qb had immediate success. I don't think we are anywhere near that right now.

I would love to see them get Burden at 12 or a top flight DL. If neither a play maker at WR or DT is available then get an OL. I really dont want an RB in the 1st and I am the biggest "pound the rock, RBs can be the difference" guy I know. This team has too many other issues. Strengthen the LOS and get another weapon then address RB. They will need to address corner too.

This is my thought process for sure. We've invested a lot into the O-line already. I have ZERO problems drafting another in the 1st this year, but at some point you gotta make it work with what you have and invest in other positions.

I do think we have a better running game staff/scheme incoming and we'll see what they can do. Let's give them a starting caliber back to pair with Ricco and let's roll! Doesn't have to be Jeanty in Round 1, but if not, then it's likely they will need to get one in the 2nd. I think you lose all of those top 5/6 guys if you wait until the 3rd.

I'm not even on the draft Jeanty train. I think he's a stud and would help this team, but when viewing our roster I think there are players that would/could help us more than Jeanty. I think drafting him kinda hamstrings us the following rounds because then you are chasing an impact WR and D lineman. You don't want to draft to a position need early, but it just so happens to be a draft and we have a pick that would allow us to get a instant impact/best available type of guy at those two positions.

I should also add to the offseason discussion that perhaps the biggest and most important business that needs to get done is bringing back Osa Odighizuwa. I really don't think we can afford to lose him unless you are just going to punt on the d line this year.

Definitely. Osa is almost exactly what you are looking for sometimes... a guy that comes in and plays consistently good football from day 1. He's not a super star, but we can't afford a team full of super stars. Just a real solid pro who will demand good money, but not top money.

I don't think there's any doubt they're picking Jeanty if he's there at 12. Especially now after promoting Schotty and the OC hire.

This statement pretty much says what we already know. Too many holes to fill with 1 draft. But pretty much every team is like this. If we are able to get back on track and compete next year, we are going to need more Daron Bland type picks.

Bland was pick # 167.

In this years draft we have 168, 170, 171, 187. 2 of those picks need to be guys that can help us next year. They don't have to be 'lead the league in interceptions' type good, but we need to find some dudes.

I don't think I said as much, but that is what prompted me to look into him. Once we started putting the staff together it became clear that running the ball to open up this offense was one of the top priorities. So I figured I better take a look.

I agree, I don't think they pass on him if he's there at 12. This is a pretty good RB class and he stands head and shoulders above them all... that's pretty special.

Romo was crowned the starter in 2007 and went down for good in 2016 when we drafted Zeke and Dak.

It's only fitting that Dak go down for good 9 years later and we draft an rb and a late round qb. I'd prefer Dart if he falls. It fits perfectly. I'd take Milroe in the 3rd if he falls though.

We don't have that OL or defense though. I pity the qb we draft.

We'll all be dead before the Boys make it back to the Bowl. At least some of us we'll be able to watch it.
