he is def a HOF talent.

I will say, I do worry about his body holding up. He's a bit on the small side to take the kind of punishment he does and his whole game is predicated on explosive speed. If he loses a half step, it could cause a dramatic drop in production, IMO.

Their running game is the flash, but they're gonna win a Super Bowl because of their elite pass defense driven by their elite front 7 play.

Running the ball well doesn't matter at all in modern football if you can't produce a significant discrepancy between you and your opponents passing efficiency. And because the Eagles have a QB they've designed an entire offense around protecting, they HAVE to have a great pass defense to succeed. It's why they were awful the back half of last year, their passing defense was the worst in football.

From now until Mahomes retires, Kansas City's singular focus should be making sure they have a good OL every year. The only years they haven't won the SB with him has been when their OL got absolutely dominated and Mahomes got destroyed (2018 AFCCCG, 2020 SB, 2021 AFCCCG and 2024 SB).

In games in which he throws in under 2.5 seconds on average and is sacked 1 or fewer times, they essentially never lose.

I was thinking along the same lines as well tonight. This game should be a wake up call to Reid, Mahomes and the front office that they not only need to seriously invest in the o line, but also in getting more weapons. For a large part of this season they were really average on offense and anchored by a solid group of D. That team was carried by great coaching and Mahomes this season, but that can only take your so far when the other teams Jimmy's and Joe's are almost all better than yours.

Exactly this. What makes anyone think Jerry and Stephen could build any kinda championships roster even with endless premium picks?

With endless picks I wouldn't really be concerned. Will McClay makes nearly all draft decisions and Dallas is the second best drafting team in the league since he assumed that role in 2013 (behind only Baltimore).

Dallas' issue is their unwillingness to spend big rounding out the roster in FA and through trades. They value their own players and draft picks too much.

The combine/combine week is where a lot of discussions like these take place because basically every front office exec is in attendance.
