As a Cowboys observer, this is how I feel. He's a losing player. He wouldn't want to drag a toe because he might actually fall on the ground… heaven forbid. He's Charmin. Horrible extension they gave him.
Sounds like he was an ideal Cowboy.

The way this offense is working. We are going to win the division and lose the 1st or 2nd rd of the playoffs. Unless cj improves or we get o line help it's who we are. Will be stuck with the 20th rd pick and no 2nd rounder to help. We just aren't on the same level as kc or Balt or even buff though we beat them. Det will go in dry and Balt and kc most likely. Must improve the oline

Hard to move the ball with the best wr duo in the league out. It's cj's 2nd year. We were all hoping to win 6 games last year.

Exactly. He fit the Cowboys culture perfectly. Not what we need here in Houston.

This is what happens when your offensive line is inconsistent. You can't run an effective offense. I can't tell if Slowik has regressed or if the offensive line play has completely hamstrung the entire offense. Stroud's protection has been bad, he's missing wide open guys and I can only imagine it's because he's scared of getting hit. I think he's throwing harder than he needs to because he doesn't know when the pressure is going to get to him, that's throwing off his rhythm. Mixon is almost single-handedly keeping them in the games because for some reason we can run block but not pass block. But that's going to bite them as a one-dimensional offense is not going to be successful. I didn't have an issue with the Diggs trade for him as a player, in retrospect I have an issue with it because this offensive line isn't good enough to justify adding WRs over them. That has to be priority number one this offseason. The secondary will be the next priority, they're also inconsistent.

Green is going to get Stroud hurt. All opposing defenses are going to continue to attack him because he's easily the weakest link. He's done and about as likely to be traded as Diggs is with a torn ACL on a one year deal.

They are due for some regression to the mean this season. They outplayed predictions last year and snuck up on teams, but that got them a first place schedule this season. As a result they are playing a harder schedule.

Their injuries at WR don't help, and the poor line play is definitely frustrating as well. But they are generally a young team and there will be some ups and downs. Right now is a down and last night was the first game since the Lovie Smith era that was somewhat discouraging. But they have some good coaches and will bounce back.

They'll still likely win the division and will likely win at least 10 games. Playing the Colts before Flacco was the starter will help all of that. Getting to play Tennessee and Jacksonville will also help. They end the season with 3 tough games, but hopefully they will be a little healthier by that point and they can win 2 of the 3. They'll definitely know what they're made of after the last 3 games as well.

The left side of the line is pathetic. Between False Start #78 and Turnstile Green, their pass blocking is horrendous. The frustrating part of this is their run blocking is significantly better than their pass protection. Being good at both is hard, but for highly compensated and recognized guys like Tunsil and Green, there shouldn't be disparity that exists.

last night's game shows how dependent the Texans are on Fairbairn

(or how fortunate they are to have him)

thru 9 games...he's attempted 25 field goals...made 21 of them...including 10 FG's beyond 50 yards

if he has a bad game (like last night), the Texans are in trouble because the coaching staff leans upon him so much

I think unfortunately this is another divisional round exit type of team. We just aren't very good offensively.

10-7 would be a good record right now given what remains on the schedule

Call me crazy, I don't think Kenyon Green plays another snap this season unless it's an emergency.

Green wasn't in the game in the second half - unless you are referring to Kendrick Green. Both the guards in there sucked. There is plenty of blame on the OLine besides one guy (who is very poor in Pass pro- but probably our best run blocker).

It also stands to reason the OL would look a lot better with Carlson and Figgs out there being automatic targets within 3 seconds of the snap.

Stroud has been sacked 30 times in 9 games (including 14 times in the last 3 games) this year. He's on pace for 56 sacks. If he's sacked at the pace he has been the last 3 games the rest of the season he'll have been sacked 67 times. Last season he was sacked 38 times in 15 games.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/StroCJ00.htm

The PFF scores are going to be brutal for most of the OL when they drop later today.

I feel like he was just really good at culling Twitter rumors and putting other stuff together as someone with a significant fanatic approach could if they constantly were listening to chatter, on the more hardcore message boards, and had a contact in/near either the team or some media outlet.

For all the scoops, he knew nothing about DeShaun's stuff until it blew up one day, and he had no idea we were drafting Stroud and trading for Anderson and largely disappeared after that.

Not that it matters in the long run, better a wacky Texan fan than a Cowboy fan any day.

looks like the AFC North will be the division to watch

the 2nd place team -- Steelers (6-2) or Ravens (6-3) -- should be the Texans' first round opponent

they have not played one another yet this season

Won't matter, Texans aren't the same caliber of team as any of the real playoff teams.

Those teams all qualified for the playoffs the real way.

Right, I think were going to need something different to set apart the caliber of teams you have in mind.

There's a lot of football left this season. Texans have the talent to be on par with the rest of the league.

What's crazy is how much better coached the defense looks than the offense.

Home game coming off a loss, and Detroit riding a hot streak. Obvious let down game for Detroit and fight back game for Houston. Following football trends this trends our direction. Same way I knew we would probably lose Saturday night coming off a huge emotional victory the previous week. That is just what happens in football when both teams have competitive rosters.
