Vrabel is not that good of a HC. His teams have always been kinda meh. They'll win too many games to get a high draft position but not enough to be contenders.

Honestly by his body language on the sidelines he looks like he's ready to call it quits all together. He always seems disengaged and disinterested. Almost like it's a pain in his ass he has to be out there every Sunday.
Vrabel could be a victim of a good QB who can't win big games. This team was setup to not make the playoffs this year: traded defensive pieces, Tannehill was done, D-Hop on a 2 year deal, and King Henry likely being done.

Tannehill was an above-average quarterback when he had AJ Brown. Without AJ Brown, Tannehill played like a below-average QB that got their coach fired.


NFL coaches with mediocre QBs do not last in the NFL.

I also think the GM/ownership in Tennessee is among the worst.

I look at the Colts, Jags and Titans ownsership/GM situation, and I can't help but think that the Texans should be running the South.

Demeco and CJ caused this. Nobody thought a rookie head coach qb combo could work. Now everyone wants a young coach with a new qb.

JFF changed theSEC into an offense oriented conference and opened up the heisman world to freshmen QBs.

Next draft could be good for QBs so the Jones boys up
North will be replaced in NE and NYG. Pemex, the LSU qb and others will get a shot at being the next CJ.

They could have just given a token interview to another Patriots assistant, Bill O'Brien, who has experience as an HC at the NFL level. Wouldn't have had to spend money to fly him in.

Rule requires interviewing at least 2 minority candidates from outside the organization in person. In person interviews can't start until after the divisional round. Thus, no one can hire right now. Mayo's succession clause in his contract allowed them to avoid that.

Look at Jerry's track history: He fired a legend (Tom Landry) and a coach coming off of his 2nd straight Super Bowl win (Jimmy Johnson). Yesterday's performance was such a disaster that one would expect a "knee jerk reaction" from him.

Read someone that speculated Peyton pushed for Tennessee to hire him. He may end up being good but that is such an underwhelming hire imo.

Then again so was Zac Taylor. But a guy like Joe Burrow can change the perception.
