I really feel like Parsons became less effective when they insisted on him playing so much DE.

But with that popularity comes a tag. If the Cowboys stand pat and get the same results, the uproar amongst fans and media could reach a point where the atmosphere around the team becomes a total circus. It's one of these difficult situations where you may have to make changes just for the sake of doing so.
A wise man once said " insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results".
We just got destroyed, embarrassed, and exposed by a #7 seed with a lowly 9-8 record in our building. If you don't make changes now, when the hell do you?

Not surprising

Don't really have an issue with this, MM is clearly the most competent and successful coach in Dallas since Jimmy and the odds of hiring someone worse and/or washed up was high.
Will be interesting what happens with Quinn. Again, the odds of hiring someone worse are very high and we had some personnel issues this year no DC is gonna overcome.
Why keep Quinn when he can't beat Shanahan, Lafleur, or the guy who's coaching the bills?
The Shanahan tree eats his lunch.
They eat everyone's lunch, especially teams with no linebackers. Not really sure what you think another coach with the same players is gonna do. You think Quinn doesn't cognitively realize what needs to happen to stop them?
He probably thinks they simply took advantage of our safeties playing linebackers, but it's not that simple. The bills, packers, and last loss against the 49ers lit us up with the pass just as bad if not worse than the run.LB12Diamond said:Infection_Ag11 said:Grapesoda2525 said:Quinn is 0-6 against his former Falcons offensive staff / teammates whatever.Infection_Ag11 said:

Wow
This response reminds of Bill Paxton in Aliens.
"Game over man!"
So you think he knows what to do. But just failed every time?

There is something to be said that Jerry Jones has not fired a coach at the end of a season specifically since Dave Campo following 2002.

Bill Parcells walked away on his own terms.
Wade Phillips was fired midseason.
Jason Garrett saw his contract expire, he wasn't fired.
Now…

6 of his worst 7 games by EPA per drive came this season.
5 of his worst 7 games by EPA per drive have come in the last 2.5 months.
Quinn is fading. Other teams know that if they just take care of the ball and run right at us that we will fall like a house of cards.

one of the Dallas pundits, I forget which, said LAST year,
"I've known Jerry Jones for a long time and I can tell you, he does NOT like to pay people to NOT work for him."
It's because of Jerry's age. He personally doesn't want to go thru a rebuild because he's so old despite the fact that there are good coaches out there who can actually fix this thing.98Ag99Grad said:

The biggest reason for the 1991-95 success was the Herschel Walker trade. Nothing like that has happened since then and it doesn't look like it ever will.robcovol said:
Jones has owned this team for almost 34 years. He caught lightning in a bottle from 1991-1995. From 1995 onward, with a few brief stretches, this has been an average NFL franchise. Playoff wins are few and far between. Wins in divisional playoffs, conference championships and Super Bowls are zero. Many here have not seen the Cowboys win it all. There has only been one constant through all of this. For me, that is too much of a coincidence to ignore. Sure, there is nothing we can do about Jerry, but the facts speak for themselves. I go back to the late 60s when many wanted Landry gone, but they turned it around. I don't know if it will happen again.

NOTHING changes in Dallas until fans stop paying $800+ for a single ticket (other teams are 20% less than Dallas), stop paying $200+ just to park your car at the stadium, stop spending $200 for a jersey and there are empty seats for home games. I agree with the idea he's more interested in building the brand than winning a championship.
He's good at the brand, but 28 years of losing in playoffs show he's awful at building a team. Here's to several more seasons of playoff futility.
Please fire Quinn and retire Jerry. Spend time with your grandkids.
