Not surprising on some of those run defense ratings. I don't know how bad or where we land on that front as a team, but I know we are not great, and it's again our teams weakest area.

Did a PFF mock draft while I was at it. The 1st one I only selected 1 round and snapped up Keon Coleman. Was so excited by the possibility that I had to do a 4 round draft and of course he didnt make it to the boys that time.

1. - 26th pick - Edge Cooper - PFF graded the pick a D
2. Jonathan Brooks - B+
3. Tate Ratledge - C
4. Jermain Burton - B
Overal grade - C+

I actually like my draft. We need a linebacker and Cooper is the #1 rated LB in PFF, and he shows why every week in game.

PFF didn't like my draft lol. I can't pass up Edge Cooper, especially with it being a position of need and he's the #1 PFF rated LB in college.

Agreed. I was wanting to see team grades, but it doesn't seem they do that on a team level.

Thanks for posting the PFF stuff Woods! Some of the interesting stand out stats for me:

Wilson and Kearse haven't been as good this year. Wilson used to be a turnover machine... can't think of the last time he forced a fumble or anything. You also don't hear Kearse's name as much. Neither are playing bad IMO, they are just playing OK (which the PFF grades seem to agree with)

Odighizuwa being top 10 is nice and also deserved. They guy impressed as a rookie and has gotten better every year.

I sorta love the fact that Biadasz is ranked 17. That's the definition of solid/average. I'm of the opinion that you need guys like that because you can't pay them all top $. He's a good enough center and does his job well... pay him an average vet salary going forward and let's roll!

I'll add to the luck argument... it's a combination of that and the fact that they have a play that pretty much cannot be stopped on 4th and 1. So much of their offense is built around "just get it to 4th and close and we'll go for it".

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why they are the only team that can do it and nobody can stop it. But a decent % of their points this year have come off of drives that most teams would have punted.

agreed. same thing with Ferguson. I love what I see when I watch the games especially over the last few weeks, so if that's middle of the pack, that's fine.

Our defensive line is elite and we have depth on the edge for the next few years as Lawrence ages. We really need Mazi Smith to become that anchor and then we're set for the next 6 years. If he can do that, then we just continue to fill in depth with late/middle round picks and we should be good.

I'm fine with our safeties. It's a good enough mix.

A 3rd CB as Gilmore ages would be nice to have. I don't know that they need to spend a high round pick on it this year, but maybe a developmental nickel or something would be good.

1st and 2nd round need to be a off ball linebacker and a WR. I would love it to be Edge Cooper at LB, for obvious reasons. 3rd/4th round you have to grab a RB that you can expect to pop. Blake Corum, Jonathon Brooks, Ray Davis. I'm good with any of them.

And then offensive line depth always needs to be built.

If Dak continues playing like this you can revisit drafting a QB until down the road.

I'm excited for the next few games. Seattle will be a nice bump in competition and then we get another shot at the Eagles which is a prove-it game. And then the Lions which will test our grit because those guys don't quit. We should win on paper, but they need to come to play.

Agreed with most of the draft stuff. We technically already used a pick on a QB (Lance) so we are good.

Definitley need LB help and I prefer to find a STUD! Would be all for Cooper... no idea what round he projects though. 2nd or 3rd round at a guess?

Need to find another OT and CB that can play soon. Mid-late round RB. Might have to wait on WR... only so many picks to go around.

We also need to replace Hankins as he had to be talked into playing this year. My first choice would T. Sweat from Texas as he is a game changer. Not sure what round he's projected to go though.

I dunno guys... the word that I keep hearing is nerve damage (that is affecting his legs) due to either his back injuries or his back surgeries.

I know some of y'all have said he's played well this year, but I've heard other saying it's another Jaylon Smith situation. The guy may flash at times, but there is a bunch of stuff he just can't do... ain't got the tools no more.

If he doesn't end up here there's probably a good reason for it.

Yeah, I haven't watched him recently so I can't speak to if he's slipped. And you're right about DC running a lot of nickel and dime. What I do know is that, while Bell has done a good job in his role, he's not even 210lbs, so he's not really a LBer. I worry about depth if we have an injury to someone like Bell. If Leonard can come in with the understanding that he will be worked in and not expected to be a 'starter', I think he adds a ton of quality to the LBer room. Certainly more than you would find on a practice squad this time of the year.

Leonard is only like 215-220lbs. He's a small fast guy as well, so if he's lost any of that it's a problem

We can't play SF at home if we don't win the division.

You want SF to win so Philly has to try down the stretch. If Philly wins the next three they can essentially treat the last three weeks like preseason games.
