he was the like the real Bilbo, sweet guy until you questioned him, and then he went nuts on you. It's nice to have an insider, but when they lord information over you and refuse to explain anything past cryptic, one sentence responses, yeah, it wears thin.

His hit rate was also stuff you could find on the internet. It was ambiguous stuff until he'd post something already known. Then when he'd get called out he'd deflect.

Dig into it a little bit.

Why all the excitement over the possibility of adding Armstead?

Looking at his stats and nothing really jumps out. Based on the numbers he looks like JAG.

Context, look at the defensive lineman he's was playing around. Chase Young, Bosa and Hargrave, plus the rest of the depth they have. You're getting him to help collapse the pocket and free up the ends to get sacks.

Ok well this makes a ton of sense. For some reason i had it in my head that he was a DE.

DeMeco likes DTs that can get up the field and go. I think Armstead and Autry fit that mold, with depth coming in the draft.

We do need to add some pieces on the offense. Wonder if we're waiting for a few vets to be released to add.

I'd like to see them move on from Ward and upgrade with a capable FS. Draft seems primed to go CB and WR in the first two rounds. CB is so deep I wouldn't be surprised if they trade back in the first.

If Brian Thomas is still there, you have to take him in the 1st.

I don't get the Calvin Ridley deal that Tennessee signed him for, but I'm guessing it's the base for what we can expect a Nico Collins extension to look like. I'd guess Collins gets somewhere between 10-20% more per year and guaranteed money. Feels like the Titans were bidding against themselves, I just don't see him as a guy worth this kind of money.

Contract Details
4 years $92MM ($23MM/year) with $50MM guaranteed
The only WR in the NFL with more guaranteed money remaining than him right now is Tyreek Hill at $52.5MM

2023 Stats - 17 games
1016 receiving yards (25th)
59.8 yards/game (31st)
13.4 yards per reception (34th)
8 TD's (tied for 8th)
7.5 yards/target (66th)
55.9% catch rate

Nico Collins - 15 games
1297 receiving yards (8th)
86.5 yards/game (7th)
16.2 yards/reception (7th)
8 TD's (tied for 8th)
11.9 yards/target (3rd)
73.4% catch rate

The Titans went from cusp of the Super Bowl a few years ago to madly flailing around with no clear idea of what they're doing. It really breaks your heart.

That's called desperation right there. The Titans new coach probably realized he has jack squat to really work with.

Although I wonder if they might lean towards drafting Brian Thomas Jr this year not only to start but also as a replacement for Nico? With the way Nick and DeMeco seem to balance talented player vs product of the system I wonder if they think Nico is that talented vs being a product of the system. If they think it's the latter and someone like Brian Thomas Jr can match Nico's production then that would be massive value to spend elsewhere on the team while keeping the same production.

This draft seems to be loaded at WR and adding a Brian Thomas to start with Nico and Tank could give us an offense that is borderline unstoppable. The defense already seems much improved with more to come in the draft.

With KC, Balt, Buf, Miami on the schedule (3/4 at home) we could earn a top 1-2 seed and home playoff games with the right mix of guys supporting CJ.

This Battle Red koolaide is pretty tasty.

It's kinda crazy how far the Texans have come since this time last year. The whole franchise is now moving in the right direction..

With all the moves on defense this offseason it definitely feels like round 1 is going to be an offensive piece, whether that's a WR or OL. The good news is both of those positions are deep in this draft. I also don't know that Thomas will be there at 23. It's almost a guarantee that Harrison, Nabers, and Odunze are gone by pick 9. I do think Adonai Mitchell isn't far off from Thomas in terms of ability but I do prefer Thomas, they're almost identical in size and speed. Both move smoothly and are deep threats. Another couple of guys that could be fits are Troy Franklin (Oregon) and Keon Coleman (FSU). There was a period of time when Keon Coleman was in the argument for WR2 in this draft class. His stock has taken a hit mainly because his 40 time (4.61) and I personally don't care about 40 times, how a player moves in pads is way more important. I personally think WR is deep enough in this class to hold off until the second round and take someone like Ricky Pearsall, Malachi Corley, Devontez Walker, or Xavier Legette.

With the amount of OL injuries this team weathered last year it won't be surprising for them to go OL in the first round.

Tez Walker is not being talked about enough pre-draft, IMO. Think he'll be a really nice player.
IrishAg

I agree with you on Keon Coleman and think he will be a great pro WR, but we can grab him in the 2nd. I don't think we'll go o-line in the 1st unless some perfect drops, we just have too much money already tied up. I think it'll be BPA on their board weighted 1) d-line 2) CB 3) WR for the 1st round pick.

There are a TON of WR that will be starters going well into the 3rd round in this draft. It's kind of crazy the talent in this draft. Some of my flying under the radar (although some have moved up post combine) are Tez Walker, Xavier Legette, Ricky Pearsall, Jalen McMillin, and Javon Baker

No way the Texans go OL in the first round…too much money tied up in it. My guess it will either be CB, DL, or WR.

Apparently Jags were willing to go to 3 years, most were looking at only 2 because of the injury history. It sucks no way around it
