Might as well book Payton to the Chargers. It's the job he wanted from the get go.

I'd trade him. The coach picks up the slammed helmet and gives it to him. He slams it again! That's not the type of player that helps you win a super bowl.

What an incredible choke job. Chargers have to clean house. TBD if Herbert is among the elite with a new coach or a step down like he is now.

Herbert has very little help on O. They need to draft or trade for some weapons. His only real receiving threat is always hurt and didn't play last night. His RB is only worth a damn near the goal line. His situation reminds me of Elway early in his career.

And Ekeler. Everett is no slouch either. He was making some fantastic plays in the passing game.

Allen is a possession WR at this point and Ekeler doesn't scare anyone. Herbert doesn't have a Kelce, Diggs, Chase/Higgins, etc. Lawrence had multiple 1st round picks at RB/WR to work with. Williams is the only 1st or 2nd round WR they've drafted in 10+ years.

You must be trolling. If you truly believe all of this there's no point of even arguing with you.

That is what you go with? How many of those awesome Chargers skill players have been to tbe Pro Bowl?
Ekeler and Keenan have both been to the Pro Bowl. Mike Williams is a very good WR2...he is likely in the top 10 or so as far as WR2s in the league go...the same can probably be said about Joshua Palmer, and Gerald Everett is no slouch. Teams having multiple Pro Bowl-level pass-catchers is the exception, not the norm. The Bills don't, the Chiefs don't this year, and the Cowboys don't...it looks like the only playoff teams that have multiple Pro Bowl-caliber pass-catchers are the Bengals, Eagles, Seahawks, and Dolphins.Scotty Appleton said:gigem1223 said:Scotty Appleton said:gigem1223 said:mAgnoliAg said:Scotty Appleton said:BowSowy said:

Herbert definitely has weapons, but Mike Williams and Keenan Allen were both plagued with injuries this year.
I think the coaching staff has to be the biggest issue there. The Chargers have so much talent on both sides of the ball and somehow seem to consistently underperform.

OOF...I looked up Keenan to verify him, but not Ekeler; I just assumed he had been...how do you lead the league in touchdowns two years in a row and surpass the 1500-yard mark in both years and not earn a Pro Bowl nod?!
And even more on the second Bills OL that came over to push the dolphins DL's head into the ground. Refs took the easy way out calling offsetting when the Bills players were far more aggressive.Frok said:
Quarterbacks sure do get protected. Should have been unnecessary roughness against the QB
