Mongo would score better than that.

Ahaha, I didn't even know what the s2 was 10mins ago, but after reading about it and seeing Stroud's score I'm all in on Will Anderson for the Texans.

Maybe Colts move up to 1 for Levis, Panthers know Texans would take Bryce, and then they are sitting at 4 knowing Stroud or Richardson, maybe both, will be there for them. And they recoup some of the draft capital spent to get to 1. Unlikely, but plausible.

So make your call now what the Texans do.

I'm going Anderson with the first pick.

Oh man if Levis goes #1 and Texans end up with Bryce then bilbo will end up being right in that there was no difference in 1 or 2 and the Texans ended up with their guy regardless.

Really depends what the Panthers do but my guess is that the preferred plan is...

1. Trade down with Indy (#4+35+'24 pick(s)) or Seattle (#5+20) and select Tyree Wilson @ 4 or 5
2. Stay @ #2 and select Anderson/Wilson.

This could be thrown completely out the window if the Panthers take anyone other than Young or trade #1 to a team that takes anyone other than Young.

I don't believe for one single solitary moment that any franchise could look at all of the QB's in this class and decide that Will Levis is the best. This is all smoke. Not sure where it's coming from, but Bryce will be the first pick.

Don't give me hope.

Indy might really really really love Levis? With us releasing we're thinking about Levis at 2, it might have forced Indy's hand to jump us up to #1, which Carolina is open to trading.

That's about the only reason I can think of for Levis trending so much.

I don't think there's any way we trade with Indy.

I think so. If they really go Levis at 1, I can't imagine the pandemonium in every draft HQ.

I would typically ay this is all smoke and mirrors but Vegas knows things and they're not moving lines that drastically off smoke and mirrors.

I'm not the degenerate gambler but I do know they move lines sometimes just based on where money is going but not typically this much. Maybe someone else can elaborate.

This mania is all driven by a random Reddit post claiming Levis has told friends and family that Carolina is taking him at #1. Could potentially be something, but very likely nothing

Yeah, it's rare a line would move this much just on random rumors. It can happen, but usually somebody some where got a hold of some pretty verifiable data.

But I can't imagine them moving the lines like that off some random poster claiming some he said she said.

Maybe things started with the rumor and the books confirmed it with solid info.

Again...I'm not a betting expert and could be completely off here.

I would assume the line would move if a bunch of money started coming in on Levis, regardless of what Vegas knows. If people start pounding it at 50/1, I would expect them to react.

There isn't that much money being bet on these lines, so a relatively small amount of bets could move the lines on these type of bets. Who knows what it really is, but if 500 dudes on reddit all threw $100 on Leivs to go number 1 all of a sudden, that could cause a big swing in the lines.

Every sports insider: Carolina is taking Bryce Young
Random reddit poster: Carolina is taking Will Levis
Betting markets: Flood to Levis.

Makes total sense.

I don't want to start a thing, but I was just considering the Colts trading up to take Levis. In their entire franchise history, the Colts have never had a black starting quarterback except for the year Andrew Luck retired 2 weeks before the season started and they had to go with Jacoby Brissett.

the Colts are racists, heard it here first /s.

That said, I wonder if they are the ones stirring the pot both on the Stroud fud and the Levis rumors.

They stand to gain the most from the people in front of them panicking.

I disagree. I get why you would say that but making a deal with Indy could be a master class in 4D chess.

If Indy is desperate for Levis (for example) and Hou decides that Levis will 100% be a bust and they are sure Levis will be on the board at #2 (seemed certain before today) Hou can start rumors that they are interested in Levis. Indy gets worried and tries to figure out if they can move up. In that scenario, they either move up to #1 to draft a player we don't really want or they trade with us to get him instead. If Car wants Young or Anderson, they know those 2 aren't lasting to #4 so they would be inclined to stay at #1. If Indy is then forced to trade with us to ensure they get Levis then we (a) ensure they get a player that we feel will bust and (b) take a decent chunk of their draft capital to help them get that bust.

There is incentive there for Indy if they feel that Levis is their guy and there is incentive to Hou to screw over a rival.

Peter Schrager proposed Indy trading #4 and DeForest Buckner for #2. Assuming some mid round or future picks are thrown in as well, I'd go for that. Adding Buckner and Tyree Wilson would give our DL a very different look than last year.

Buckner is almost 30...I would be fine with him as a throw-in to the deal, but not a substantive piece.

If Indy wants to trade up to 2:
1. we swap first rounders
2. we get their 2nd rounder, and
3. we get their 2024 1st rounder.

That is where the conversation starts.

I will say that if there's even a .1% chance that Carolina passes on Young then Houston can't consider trading out of 2 until after they make their pick. That being said, I have a tough time thinking Levis is the guy at number 1 after trading up from 9 and all the assets they gave up to get a QB. Granted I was still shocked when Cleveland took Mayfield at 1, but it happened. You never know who teams fall in love with until the pick is in.

Even before this Levis rumor came out this morning, you don't pull the trigger on any deal until you're on the clock. You can have a deal completely lined up in principle, but you don't do it until you know for sure what you are dealing with.

I'm genuinely very curious where Levis actually goes. Everything we hear is that NFL people are very high on him, but any average guy who watched him play last season saw a guy who did not remotely look like a future NFL star. I know they say he had bad coaching and a bad line and he was hurt, but...he I watched several of his games last season and he looked like garbage. I just don't get it, other than scouts tend to overanalyze everything and fall in love with certain guys.
