I kind of feel the pass rush is for real , even tho it's preseason
We'll see. It looked a lot more like try hard sacks, which I'm not sure will translate well to the regular season.Juan Solo said:

I sure hope they trot Watson out. Not only for the signs but can you imagine the boo that will ring out. That would be worth the price of a ticket.
I loved watching that guy play football and quite honestly that talent is top tier but for the hell he and his team put our team through, capitalizing on the turmoil in the top brass…. He deserves ever boo and sneer.
The Browns don't have to implode for that to happen, just play their normal style of football. This will be the first season I try and watch the Texans regularly in 3 season. It's nice to feel like there are young guys to root for and a coach who I don't feel is a moron. Funny how the simple things can make you happy.IrishAg said:Agreed on Mills. Is Not a Turtle said:
Mills needs to get more reps and keep going. He's capable of making all the throws but is inconsistent at times. Has a chance to be a solid pro if he can keep from injury.
All the doom and gloom on the radio is just garbage time filler since the team is relatively boring to talk about and everyone has a take on the QB. I'm not worried. Would be great to be a sneaky surprise team this year but really top 10 pick is optimal.
Only true must win is the Browns game. For obvious reasons.
Still hoping the Browns implode and we have a top 5-10 pick form them. I could see the Texans having the same or better record going into our matchup in week 13. At that point you have to wonder if they trot out a rusty Watson or just close up shop.

If Green comes on like we're hoping and Tunsil stays healthy, we legit could swing from one of the worst to one of the best o-lines in 1 year.
I'm legit excited to see what this offense can do.
Wow, you think he sucks? I would say Mills at worst right now is TBD. But the guy was one of the top 2 rookie (and top rookie in the second half of the year) QBs in one of the better QB drafts last year. Not saying he's going to be a great one, but right now I would put better odds on him being a great QB than a bad pick.gougler08 said:IrishAg said:

Our O Line will improve but Mills still sucks so our offense isn't going to be good
Just watching the preseason games and I'm not impressed, maybe he surprises me but he's a bottom third QB in the league right now. Maybe sucks is harsh (I doubt he turns in to Blaine Gabbert or something like that), but I don't see him being a QB that can win enough to take us where we want to goIrishAg said:Wow, you think he sucks? HA, yeah, I use sucks for someone like Josh Rosen who was a top 10 pick and is struggling to make a roster. Mills ended last year on a high note, and as 3B Paul 97 said above, you always have to take preseason with a grain of salt. Don't forget, he won the starting spot after his rookie season, so there might have been a lot of spots this preseason where the coaches wanted to work on something Mills isn't great at, or they were calling plays that had to be run a certain way to look at a WR or TE that might be borderline on making the team (whereas in a real game Mills would be making his favorite throws to his favorite receivers)...or Mills just had bad passes and might have a bad 2nd season. But overall you can't really tell what the goal is in preseason because the coaches main goal isn't to necessarily win the game. The biggest plus in the preseason for me with Mills is that when the coaches turned on the 2 minute warning scenarios Mills usually looked good.gougler08 said:Just watching the preseason games and I'm not impressed, maybe he surprises me but he's a bottom third QB in the league right now. HA, I swear I didn't see your post before I put mine out there about him being serviceable, but yeah, Mills is perfect for where we're at as a franchise. We don't need a great QB right now, as we'll have to cap cuff ourselves with his salary before we're ready as a team.bdgol07 said:
How soon everyone forgets or isn't willing to remember that other than Mac Jones, Mills was the best rookie QB last year. It isn't always pretty but he got the job done with the resources around him. Is he a HOF'er? No. Is he at DW4 level? No (on or off the field, which is good and bad).
He showed to be a very serviceable QB and I think that we are all spoiled by what Watson did and showed and expect him to do that as well and that isn't a fair thought or even remotely likely to ever happen anyways. We have to understand what he is, he is more Schaub2.0 than Watson2.0
And what is both sad and hopeful at the same time....being on board with serviceable is a really good place to be compared to 2 years ago.gougler08 said:
Alright, you guys have convinced me...I'm on board for serviceable!
Wow, that's a surprise as most projections had us keeping 3 QBsAgs #1 said:

That's a surprise, he looked good in his limited time. Only thing I can think of is they want to let him try to go somewhere where he'll get a lot of playing time? Or a personality issue? But, that's a surprise.Ags #1 said:

Yup....the only good that came of that trade was Cooks. But it is still one of the worst trades in NFL history.rbcs_2 said:
Wasn't that pick part of the Hopkins deal? Not sure I will ever get over that terrible trade.
No damn lie, I think he might have been worse than Matt Millen if we had kept him for another year or two...but at least we somehow limited a small portion of the damage when we got rid of BoB and he didn't destroy every single facet of the franchise like Matt Millen did to the Lions.Ags #1 said:

My thing with Sharping is that he had a productive rookie year and then just completely digressed each subsequent year.
