I sure hope they trot Watson out. Not only for the signs but can you imagine the boo that will ring out. That would be worth the price of a ticket.
I loved watching that guy play football and quite honestly that talent is top tier but for the hell he and his team put our team through, capitalizing on the turmoil in the top brass…. He deserves ever boo and sneer.

Anyone thinking there will be some surprise cuts? I think Blalock gets the axe. So many are predicting him to make the team and Hinish going to the practice squad, but i think they'll keep Hinish for fear of someone signing him.

The Browns don't have to implode for that to happen, just play their normal style of football. This will be the first season I try and watch the Texans regularly in 3 season. Only true must win is the Browns game. For obvious reasons.
Still hoping the Browns implode and we have a top 5-10 pick form them. I could see the Texans having the same or better record going into our matchup in week 13. At that point you have to wonder if they trot out a rusty Watson or just close up shop.
Is it too early to do our game-by-game predictions for the season?

If Green comes on like we're hoping and Tunsil stays healthy, we legit could swing from one of the worst to one of the best o-lines in 1 year.

Our O Line will improve but Mills still sucks so our offense isn't going to be good
Wow, you think he sucks? I would say Mills at worst right now is TBD. But the guy was one of the top 2 rookie (and top rookie in the second half of the year) QBs in one of the better QB drafts last year. Just watching the preseason games and I'm not impressed, maybe he surprises me but he's a bottom third QB in the league right now. Maybe sucks is harsh (I doubt he turns in to Blaine Gabbert or something like that), but I don't see him being a QB that can win enough to take us where we want to goIrishAg said:Wow, you think he sucks? You have to take preseason with a grain of salt. Didn't have the full starting OL or WR core out there. Some might argue that the best RB didn't get a bulk of the snaps also. I think he takes a good leap this year to be solid.
How soon everyone forgets or isn't willing to remember that other than Mac Jones, Mills was the best rookie QB last year. It isn't always pretty but he got the job done with the resources around him. Is he a HOF'er? No. Is he at DW4 level? No (on or off the field, which is good and bad).
He showed to be a very serviceable QB and I think that we are all spoiled by what Watson did and showed and expect him to do that as well and that isn't a fair thought or even remotely likely to ever happen anyways. We have to understand what he is, he is more Schaub2.0 than Watson2.0

HA, yeah, I use sucks for someone like Josh Rosen who was a top 10 pick and is struggling to make a roster. Mills ended last year on a high note, and as 3B Paul 97 said above, you always have to take preseason with a grain of salt. Don't forget, he won the starting spot after his rookie season, so there might have been a lot of spots this preseason where the coaches wanted to work on something Mills isn't great at, or they were calling plays that had to be run a certain way to look at a WR or TE that might be borderline on making the team (whereas in a real game Mills would be making his favorite throws to his favorite receivers)...or Mills just had bad passes and might have a bad 2nd season. But overall you can't really tell what the goal is in preseason because the coaches main goal isn't to necessarily win the game. But overall, right now we don't need Mills to be great, we just need him to be serviceable. If he ends up being great, then we're lucky we found a franchise QB with a lower round pick, if he's just serviceable then that means that we continue to build the team and when we hit a certain point we go draft a sure fire QB to help us win big. But either way, Mills is pretty perfect for where we're at as a franchise.

We had zero expectations for Mills to do anything other than hold a clipboard. He went 2-9 as a starter on a ****ty team, but 16 TD and 10 INT with a 66.8% completion percentage is nothing to frown upon. The team probably had comparable talent last year to what they had in 2002 with Carr, and that kid looked light years better than Carr.
