Would have been nice, but glad we're still not overpaying for players right now. The cap flexibility is more important than high end free agent talent right now, in my opinion.

What's nice is they acted on this like a normal franchise and attempted to secure the player long term before executing the trade. If BoB was still GM, he would have executed the trade and worried about signing the player later.

Exactly, Caserio has made plenty of solid moves so far during his time here. If the next two draft classes play out and he keeps on making solid moves then we will be a contender in the division.

Yes, BoB always seemed to panic and do something when things didn't go his way because he really really wanted that player. It's the main reason why you don't want a coach acting as a GM, and the Texans are an example of that taken to another level as a coach who has absolutely no GM skills what so ever being given the GM roll.

So refreshing to see someone making intelligent moves.

I think we can get to 6-7 wins. If davis gets better and oline improves we can get to 6 win imo. Both are possible

5 wins. Top 10 pick. Get the infinity stones…. Profit.

I see 5 wins if Mills is what he was last year, he will have games in which he impresses and then games where he looks like I am playing QB…however if he takes the next step maybe 7 or 8 wins…yes, I know way glass half full thought, but the theory on rookies is they make the greatest stride from their rookie season to their sophomore season.

This will still be a pretty bad defense. I don't think wins will be based on Mills' performance.

Looking at that schedule 5 wins feels like the best case scenario. Even if Mills continues to grow this team will have limitations. I do think there's a lot of uncertainty in the division that could benefit us. We'll be in the conversation for the top pick next year with teams like Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, Carolina, and Detroit. Cleveland's schedule will benefit them even if Watson gets suspended so I don't see us getting two high first rounders next year, they will get a lot of wins even if Mayfield starts those games. Next draft is a good QB draft, which benefits us greatly whether or not we need a QB, if we don't but we have the No 1 pick we could get a lot of trade value. Also, it's likely we are the worst team in the AFC, there will be a number of teams that could be a disaster in the NFC so we wouldn't be trading within the conference. I'm still partial to Will Anderson, but I also really Like CJ Stroud. We will be in great shape cap wise as well so 2023 could be fun, Caserio could make some fun moves next offseason.

They won four games with no offensive line and no running game last year. Both of those things should be at the least marginally better. Mills gets an entire season.

I expect anywhere from 4 to 7 wins.

Lovie smith and Pep Hamilton vs Culley and Tim. Professional coaches plus an influx of talent at DB, OL, WR and RB should make for an improved team. Beating the Colts at home could lead to a 4-1 start before the off week. Local media is already counting on a 2-4 win team. If Mills basically becomes Matt Schaub, this team could win 7-10 games.

They also won 4 games with Watson at qb, this is still a 4-6 win team. Defense is still trash, maybe they are more competitive in their games than they were last year but won't win many more.

They likely had an more difficult schedule with Watson as quarterback, as the year before they were pretty good. Last year, they had a easier schedule. This year, they should also have a similarly easy schedule compared to other teams.

Yes, but talent wise Watson is a Top 10, maybe Top 5, QB. 4 wins with that means the rest of the team was historic garbage.

Don't know what to do with myself now that we have a quiet offseason, a rational/logical front office, and a team with some players you can see a future with.

Weird.

Something seems off.

Examining the Colts schedule vs. Texans schedule, there is a huge difference between them but most of the teams are the same. Differences are:

Colts: Patriots, Steelers, Vikings, Texans 2x
Texans: Bears, Browns, Dolphins, Colts 2x

So there is either not that much difference between all schedules, or Vegas thinks the Texans are the worst team ever (excluding replacement players).

EDIT: Also, the Titans have a more difficult schedule than the Texans it seems to me. Differences are: Bengals, Bills, Packers, Texans 2x.

Haven't checked schedules for the other teams yet, but the number of home vs away games are split now with the jump to 17 games. We got an extra game on the road of course which probably makes our schedule harder. So I'm wondering if the colts and others on the weaker side got an extra home game this year?

I think the easiest answer is... The Colts play the Texans twice (possibly the worst team in the league) and the Texans play the Colts twice (possibly Top 10-15).

Yeah looking at that chart make me think that Vegas has a low opinion of the NFC East and the Texans. Texans plays 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.

The Texans are the Texans, and every season it seems no franchise wants to actually win the NFC East. So it makes sense.

#1 - NFC East- 13 Super Bowl victories

With 13 Super Bowl triumphs and 21 NFC Championships, the NFC East has four more than any other division in the NFL.

Not saying the East hasn't been down but you can't say "every" season no one wants to win the East, lol.

It feels that way some years, especially two years ago when the Redskins/Commanders/WFT won with a 7-9 record. Besides the Cowboys last year (6-0 in division), the teams in the NFC East aren't very good and are each searching for competent QB play. I do expect the Eagles to be better this year with how aggressive they've added players in the draft and FA. Still, the NFC East is top heavy and, overall, likely a middle tier division at best.

I'm glad you said "lol" because otherwise I would have thought you took my obvious tongue-in-cheek statement seriously.

how many Super Bowl titles does the NFC East have in the 21st century? or in the last decade?

that would be a bit more relevant to the situation in 2022
KatyAggie01
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Not counting the Pats, lol, in the 21st Century you have the AFC North with 4 followed by the NFC East with 3. The AFC South has 1 with Manning.
