Any chance the Texans take Willis if he is available at 37? What about Howell if he is available at 68?

I'd likely see the Texans trade out for a team wanting them at those spots, but just curious if there's a scenario where they grab a QB tonight....
I hope not. Too many other needs (basically every position) to be taking a QB in round 2 or 3. Mills needs another year before they spend a top 3 rounds pick on QB, IMO.

Green I'm fine with. I'd have gone sauce over Stingley. The skill set is fine but I question his passion for football. Seems prime to pull a Tunsil when he gets the second contract. If he's there mentally and healthy then he's the most talented but those are some significant if's.

Today should be interesting. I'm seeing a lot of Breece Hall, which makes sense because our RB's suck. Ideally I'd like to see us go edge / LB then trade into the back half of the second to get Walker from Mich St.
This. I think breece hall is going to bust hard.

If available, Dean or Ojabo.

Ojabo would miss 2022 season though. Big risk, high reward

610 pounding the table this morning for RB at #37

or trading (for a 2nd pick) into the 2nd round to take RB

Those guys are know nothing *******s.

That said Walker would be a great pickup if we traded back and got more picks for later again. Just not breece.

Walker, Cook, Spiller, Robinson would all be superior imo

I've read a few 2nd round mocks and they all have Dean not being selected until halfway through the 2nd round. I don't get it. And most have the Texans taking a RB.

Trade up to get Dean?

1. Get 2nd 2nd round draft pick.
2. Pick Dean and Spiller.
3. Profit?

I wouldn't pay much attention to the guys at 610. They generally know nothing and have sold out more for entertainment than actual analysis and breaking news. Take it for what it is - something to listen to when out and about or at work.

I think the Texans use one of their 3rds and the 5th/6th round picks to jump into the 2nd round and grab another starter. Like I said previously, I don't see Nick making 11 picks the next few days.

I like a strong RB and a strong edge rusher. WR is a need, but maybe a next year need given Cooks and Collins are on the team.

Man I think if we want a great steal in the draft we go get Justyn Ross in the later rounds. His forty time is making people scared but he had a foot injury nagging him and stopping him from being his best.

He could be a day 1 starter. 6-4 205 (normal 4.45 speed) and played slot in college? yessir.

If we miss out on Dean I'm intrigued by Boye Mafe. I know Walker's status was largely inflated by his combine performance, Mafe's measurables are top notch. I only included the stats for the tests they shared, not everyone did the shuttle and 3 cone.

6'4" / 261 lbs
4.53 40 yard dash
38" vertical
125" broad jump

Travon Walker
6'5" / 272 lbs
4.51 40 yard dash
35.5" vertical
123" broad jump

Aidan Hutchinson
6'7" / 260 lbs
4.74 40 yard dash
36" vertical
117" broad jump

Jermaine Johnson
6'5" / 254 lbs
4.58 40 yard dash
32" vertical
125" broad jump

David Ojabo
6'4" / 250 lbs
4.55 40 yard dash
35" vertical
122" broad jump

I'd prefer DL or WR over Dean. I worry his lack of size will get more exposed once he doesn't have an insanely talented DL in front of him.

The only thing I can think of is Lovie can figure out how to use him in his system like Derrick Brooks. They're virtually the same size though "different" LB positions.

I love how we have drafted and traded down so far. We have a potential lock down corner and we are going to see if Mills is the answer after next uear behind a solid OL.

With the second round I would get an edge rusher. Either the Penn State or Minnesota kid if one is available.

If Pitre is available later in round 2 then I hope we move up to get him.

After that I hope we get a RB then WR and then best available for the rest.

The good thing is that we don't have to win week 1. I think back to how long it took Duane Brown/Kareem Jackson to get acclimated to the league. I think we'll see the directionality of this team around midway through the year.

Hoping we take Dean, Breece Hall, or Sky Moore. Hopefully we can get some offensive playmakers or best available. That should be our priority.

So take the Michigan guy even though he's injured?

One thing it looks like we learned is that Caserio looks at need over value
I disagree and think Stingley is a perfect example of this not being the case. If he valued need over best available, he wouldn't have taken a press man cover corner.
I agree with you. Stingley is the most talented player in the draft. The questions were his health, which seems to have been answered for the most part, and then attitude because of number of games played the last 2 years for a program that went into disarray. Texans have a lot of needs, Caserio took the best player in the draft.

That's who I was hoping for at 37. Going to be a lot of WRs going off the board this round so this would be a good spot to pick one up.

I think he'll be a pro bowler by year 2

Baylor had a good defense, but Pitre is like a Honey badger type player.

He played Nickel, Safety and LB for Baylor and ran a 4.44 at the combine

Dean has a LOT of injuries in his past and it sounds like he may even need pec surgery after his rookie season.

He was first team all American, can't say I watched a minute of Baylor football, but I'm thinking it's a solid pick at a position we need.
