So the Texans went from trying to replicate the Patriots to trying to replicate the 49ers.
Bilbo sticking his neck out here...from the sunglasses emoji, do you think this is a good thing?bilbobag said:
Texans with a new GM after April……
Probably good, if true. I've come to the conclusion that most of the success of the Patriots dynasty is due to the greatness of Tom Brady. Pretty much every coach or GM who has come from New England has had little success, and even the hoodie has looked pretty bad since Brady took his talents to Florida.Marvin said:

This. If there's anything that's been proven it's the the Patriots weren't able to be replicated, though a nice goal in theory, it was too unique IMO for any team to truly be able to replicate.Ag_07 said:
NFL is a league of copycats and retreads.
Chosing to copy the 49ers isn't a bad thing.
to this day that post from Bilbo is still the dumbest thing I've ever read. anywhere. complete and utter incompetency from the Texans staff knowing that is their mentality. PLEASE bring in new leadership from the top downThe Porkchop Express said:Um, Newsflash, friend, the #2 pick is EXACTLY THE SAME THING as the #1 pick.JT05 said:The Porkchop Express said:
If he does the draft and then leaves, the texans will officially replace the 1980s clippers as the dumbest franchise of all time
It's the GM equivalent of letting the fired head coach still coach in the last game and cost you the #1 pick.
I think he's referring to the string of posts you made on January 8th, starting withbilbobag said:

I posted back in November, I believe after Thanksgiving, about it's time for DeMeco to come home.
That was the first day DeMeco became a legit and favorite candidate to be the Texans coach. No one else was even discussing DeMeco at that time.
Correct me if I am wrong.
I prefer it over here to the Aggie fb board because the interactions and insights are much more thoughtful and positive for the most part. I just don't care to put myself through the perpetual misery that everyone shares over there. The spring game is going on and for a large portion of the posters over there I'm sure the season is already over. Even when things are going bad for the Texans it still feels like people can be objective and laugh about it as well. No one is having a contest to see who's the most miserable. Here it's ok to celebrate small victories, over there nothing is good enough. I would hope this board continues to be the better of the two.IrishAg said:
I really don't understand why so many people get upset trying to figure out if Bilbo works for the Texans or not. It doesn't really matter, this is the internet, take everything with a grain of salt and just enjoy that there are people here who actually want to engage in football conversation about the team.
Overall, I just appreciate everyone who contributes with actual football discussion on this thread, even when I might disagree with them.

Not trying to be an ass but on the Monday following the last game of the year my wife had a double mastectomy for breast cancer followed by recovery and then a full reconstruction of both breasts.
I also have two kids so I was pretty much pushed to my limits mentally and physically.
Things are almost back to normal and why the increase in posts.
I remained confused on your insistence that it didn't matter if the Texans picked #1 or #2.bilbobag said:
My post in November only mentioned DeMeco. I will see if I can find it.
Still confused?
I'd say after dealing with all that you're allowed to be an ass during an internet debate about professional football. A few years ago my wife had surgery to remove a brain tumor. This was at the height of Covid so I couldn't even be in the hospital while it was going on. Our 4 year has no understanding what's going on. I'm worried about whether the surgery goes well, what if she dies, what if she comes out compromised? I doubt I'd show much restraint if I felt cross about anything while that was going on in our lives. I was on edge all the time, I'm sure you had a similar experience.bilbobag said:

To be fair, we were trying to replicate the Broncos before that.Marvin said:

Texans GM Nick Caserio addresses rumors he might be leaving the team post-draft: "Quite frankly, I'm almost embarrassed I have to. I feel sort of like Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street. I'm not leaving. There's never really been any substantive discussions of the sort."

Caserio was hired in January of 2021. Since then...
2021 ---> 4-13
2022 ---> 3-13-1
how much time does he have to wait on a quarterback?
