I'm assuming Hopkins will not be reporting, right? We were told this was only about money and Hop refused to play without a $25 million/year deal. Well, he still doesn't have one.

Agreed. Hopkins is gone, get over it.
That's why you don't listen to the national media on anything. They make money on being opinionated and drawing eyes/ears, not being right. Complaining isn't going to bring Hopkins back, the team is going to be fine without him.AG@RICE said:Texan_Aggie said:

Thats going to be really hard to do when the national media constantly points out how poor BOB has been as a GM. Just because you don't want to hear, doesn't mean people won't constantly talk about. You will probably have to take your own advice and just get over the complaining.
If it is, that is pretty genius.Texan_Aggie said:
Depth we signed from PSquad towards the end of the season. Likely he wasn't going to make the team, so I wonder if this is some sort of salary guarantee?
I think the formal/official story is he has had family impacted and wants to opt out.pagerman @ work said:If it is, that is pretty genius.Texan_Aggie said:

I have also read that the $150K or $350K this year comes out of your contract for next year...but I wasn't able to find the official reference.Texan_Aggie said:I think the formal/official story is he has had family impacted and wants to opt out.pagerman @ work said:If it is, that is pretty genius.Texan_Aggie said:

The opt out for non high risk, as I understand it, is $150k salary for the year and the contract for that year gets pushed out 1 year. So the 2020 contract is now in effect for 2021. Suppose if you're a player who is in the final year of a contract or doesn't expect to make the roster, assuming unlikely to make another team, you can effectively get 2 years w/ a contract.
I just don't think there's much to talk about. The first game isn't for another month, basically. Normally we're inundated with training camp talk and pre-season games. I didn't realize training camp was going on at all until I stumbled upon Hard Knocks this past week.Ag_07 said:
I'm hoping that the level of interest expressed on this thread is indicative of the overall interest in the Texans.
Camp starts and it's crickets
Damn. Time to add his name to the Charles Spencer All-Stars - Texans that showed a small glimpse of potential before suffering a series of injuries and never playing a down again.Max Power said:
