Trump is already a former WWE character. Any chance he gets involved? Also will you watch the XFL if they make the players stand for the anthem?
If McMahon owns the franchise; you can bet they'll stand for the anthem.Trillary Clinton said:

This is not remotely politics related.

I'm not watching unless they play the national anthem between every play.
That dude's kinda old at this point - but maybe he could be Coach Hate Me now.aTm2004 said:

Disagree. I'll watch this. A lot of guys will.93MarineHorn said:
I'm surprised this is being tried again. By the time the Super Bowl comes around even die hard football fans have pretty much had enough of football. I can't believe that there will much of an appetite for some new league with players you've never heard of. This will fail quickly.

OK. You're going to be watching NFL rejects playing in odd/funky uniforms for brand new teams with no history/traditions/rivalries.....It is going to seem very lame compared to NFL games which are already kinda lame. And this is after you've already been watching football every weekend since late August. It will enjoy some novelty/notoriety for a while but will fold within two seasons, maybe sooner.Quote:

The problem last time was the football just wasn't that good. Plenty of good players cut by NFL teams that can form some pretty damn good pro teams.
Ok, MOST football fans have had enough. Guys, these leagues have failed miserably every time they've been tried. It's kinda like socialism....Quote:Pardon?Quote:

It just hasn't been implemented the right way yet.93MarineHorn said:Ok, MOST football fans have had enough. Guys, these leagues have failed miserably every time they've been tried. It's kinda like socialism....Quote:Pardon?Quote:

I wonder if this could eventually become the NFL's minor league? Consist of players that may be cut by a team or leave college early for the draft and aren't drafted? If that could happen, then Canada should be worried.wbt5845 said:Disagree. I'll watch this. A lot of guys will.93MarineHorn said:

The thing that is different now and could make a new league work is fantasy football and the internet. If the XFL can get the fantasy gamblers to invest interest in their league it will be at least moderately successful.93MarineHorn said:Ok, MOST football fans have had enough. McMahon isn't going to have any player or players bigger than the league. I'm pretty certain if you don't stand or don't appear on the field, your career in the XFL would immediately be over. You wouldn't even go on the field that day.TXK said:
We'll see. I think they'll just stay in the locker room if they want to.
No, but the LGBTZQXY community will love the premier of She Hate Me - a transgender player!aTm2004 said:

Well, I guess it kinda is, since the NFL was politicized this year and the McMahons are Trump supporters (Vince's wife is our Secretary of Small Business, btw).TexAgsAnon said:

I read this article about it on ESPN (via Drudge): http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22213241/vince-mcmahon-gimmick-free-xfl-return-2020queso1 said:
I just hope they don't start doing the wrasslin' story lines and bs like last time. I remembered it started out cool, but then they began the beefs and fake crap.
Also, in order for it to have any legitimacy it will need to have an independent media broadcast and call the play by play. If I recall correctly, the XFL called the XFL games...very similar to wrasslin'. They need espn, abc, fox etc to call the games with their personalities, not XFL employees. That always made it seem like I was watching American Gladiators or something.
