They aren't going to make anyone stand for any anthem. You can give that up. Either watch it or don't.

We'll see. I think they'll just stay in the locker room if they want to.

But either way it won't live or die on this issue. If it's good, folks watch. If not, that brief two minutes or so can't save it.

I'm surprised this is being tried again. By the time the Super Bowl comes around even die hard football fans have pretty much had enough of football. I can't believe that there will much of an appetite for some new league with players you've never heard of. This will fail quickly.

OK. You're going to be watching NFL rejects playing in odd/funky uniforms for brand new teams with no history/traditions/rivalries.....It is going to seem very lame compared to NFL games which are already kinda lame. And this is after you've already been watching football every weekend since late August. It will enjoy some novelty/notoriety for a while but will fold within two seasons, maybe sooner.

I wonder if this could eventually become the NFL's minor league? Consist of players that may be cut by a team or leave college early for the draft and aren't drafted? If that could happen, then Canada should be worried.

I think it depends on if it's positioned right. I mean, this head trama stuff is still coming. If he sets it up to avoid liability completely and becomes the "yeah, we dont care about the players health and the players know that" sport...it could have legs.

Are fans allowed to conceal carry into games?

McMahon isn't going to have any player or players bigger than the league. I'm pretty certain if you don't stand or don't appear on the field, your career in the XFL would immediately be over. You wouldn't even go on the field that day.

Also, in order for it to have any legitimacy it will need to have an independent media broadcast and call the play by play. If I recall correctly, the XFL called the XFL games...very similar to wrasslin'. They need espn, abc, fox etc to call the games with their personalities, not XFL employees. That always made it seem like I was watching American Gladiators or something.

It could fail just on the XFL name because it screams cheap and cheesy. Create a developmental league for the NFL and you've got money coming in.

Seems to not be gimmick based at all. And no WWE tie-ins. Seems Vince has put the money into its own account, separate. Based on that sole article, seems interesting. I can almost predict for a fact we'd see a team in Austin or San Antonio.

One last edit, per your point, Vince mentions in that article floating the idea of streaming services. IDK if that'd have any legs (how could bars show it?) But his approach to this seems innovative in the very least
