Defense must still get better to play in a Super Bowl this year.

That much I learned this game. Bad refs or not.

But, we knew that going in. Should have a db or two back by then right?

Steelers showed that the defense can be exposed. I still refuse to look ahead as if getting to the super bowl wouldn't be incredibly difficult, but it does feel like Belichick would work some kind of voodoo magic to beat us if it did somehow get that far

If jaylon smith comes back, this draft could be historic.

I don't necessarily disagree, but they are playing some pretty good D. Big Ben's record and stats at home are insanely good. And they made several inedible plays tonight where out defense was good, they just made a great play.

I'd love to see better, but they are pretty salty. Even more so considering the injuries.

Wanted to give a shout out to T-Will. That guy never stops playing! 1 catch last night but he was a blocking fool. Only so many balls to go around but the guy is making his catches and his plays when he's called on... and when he's not, he's sprinting down field shielding off the last guy that could have gotten Zeke on an 80+ yard screen pass to the house.

Nice job young man!

That screen was a thing of beauty. Brought back memories of the Ton Landry and Tony Dorsett. WR blocking is still a huge part of the game that usually gets overlooked.

Williams did spring the key block on that screen but I still expect much more from our #2 WR. He can't just be invisible as a receiving threat. We have to find a credible replacement because once Witten is gone the offense will be in trouble without a credible option other than Dez.

Yes, the Steelers exposed the defense at times but the Steelers are a top offense. Even the Patriots don't have a trio as good as Ben, Brown, & Bell.

But we won... we won with a 6th round rookie and who ever the hell McFadden is.

6 unsuccessful 2 poInt conversions. I haven't heard. NFL record?

Also, remember, Ezekiel is the reason for the season. This is what a dominant running back can do for a team.

Prescott is playing really good but without Elliott everyone will be wondering why he isn't playing the way he used to... just look at Russell Wilson minus Marshawn Lynch.

I like T Will. His lack of production this year is because Dak doesn't yet read the entire field every play, and that's fine... With Romo at the helm, TWill gets much more involved.

I did think that Morris would be able to have some success with our o-line, but the difference between the offense with him and with Zeke is night and day. Zeke is so good at getting 3-4 more yards before he's brought to the ground, plus the explosive plays.

Zeke and Dak have been amazing but the reason it all goes is the OL.

And it's far and away the primary reason. Just look at the talent around the league that is struggling because their OL is garbage.

Having said that, I was not in favor of Zeke at 4 even though I knew he would be awesome and he's exceeded even my lofty expectations. If he continues to play at a transcendent level and they can manage his touches he was obviously worth the pick and then some.

Couple comments on this... Dak completed 22 of 32 passes. If T-Will caught 5 balls last night we are all wondering why Witten/Beasley/Dez didn't catch more.

And let's not forget he stepped up pretty big when Dez was out. We are a run first team that has 2 legitimate STUDS as primary targets (not to mention we got one of them small / quick white boys too!), but T-Will is still on pace for 600+ yards & a couple TDs.

PS: Just looked this up... T-Will has 25 catches on 35 targets... 71%. That's REALLY good! On the flip side, Dez has 20 catches on 50 targets. Beasley is an incredible 48 of 61.

Not to quibble or anything but Brady/Blount/Gronk and or Bennett have been every bit as good or better than the PIT trio.

You're splitting hairs to talk by how much or whatever but there are offenses out there as good or better than what PIT has shown.

On the defense, they've over performed for sure and were down two guys who were playing well yesterday plus OScan got hurt.

Having said that, they have got to figure out a non blitz edge rush and I'm not sure where that's gonna come from. Their run D has been fine and just in terms of yesterday, JJ Wilcox deserves a game ball. Dude was lighting guys up left and right and trying his best in coverage.

So much credit to Marinelli here... credit JJ too, but Rod is putting him in great spots to do what he does best. And while I'm at it, credit Byron Jones for being the safety we've missed since Woodson was gone. His presence give us so much flexibility with the other guys. There is a reason why we haven't seen 50+ yard TDs against this defense!

Nope. You are looking at the happieset moron on this board. If the Cowboys can secure home field throughout the playoffs then I will be the one streaking on the field in the NFC Championship game against the Seahawks.

Then again knowing my luck Dak Prescott will beat the hell out of a child while smoking a bunt and Elliot will then shoot both of them with an illegal fire arm.

I don't ask for much Lord. Just let the Cowboys continue this. Hell, even the defense is looking good.

PIT is just about to start hitting their stride with the injuries and suspensions. The 3-B's are top 3's at their position.

Like I said, Ben, Brown, and Bell are a better trio because Blount is not as good as Bell. Now, Brady does tip the scale to the Patriots in most match ups.

Arguing that the Steelers offense isn't a top offense in the league is almost as dumb as arguing about drafting Ramsey ahead of Elliott... almost.

looking ahead i still think this team's lack of pass rush is very problematic. there's still potential there for that being the reason we cite as to why we didn't win it all.

however i do believe that we match up very well with some teams that are considered the best teams in the league. the team that i see giving us the most trouble is actually Seattle (even more so than a potential match up with New England). but if we can continue winning games we can stay ahead of them in the home field race and get them at home.

The pass rush hasn't been a killer lately. Pitt was getting the ball out very quickly and we actually got all kinds of pressure against Cleveland. What hurts is losing so many DBs. Having solid coverage was really helping and I'm not sure they can sustain it. In the playoffs if we go up against Atlanta or New York that could be a real issue.

On the flip side, having a great offense covers up a lot. New England has been doing this year with an even worse pass rush. I'd contend our defense is better and will give Seattle more problems than they did.

In the end, I think Atlanta, NYG, Philly and the Skins are all possible outs in the playoffs. This team has flaws. However, they are in a great position and if they stay healthy should be the favorites.

I wish I could give you negative stars for listening to the fish. Dude has to be related to Skip Bayless based on how full of himself he is. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this and assume you're radio was broken and you were unable to turn it off, change the station, and had no available means to light your car on fire.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fish fan.

I have read nothing about anyone being worried about 17. In fact, I keep seeing hints that there is a reason they didn't IR him. I have seen some suggest that the knee is sound and they are litteraly waiting on the the nerve to fire and he could be a week or two away from playing. Now, I have no idea how legit that is, but the Cowboys are def holding a roster spot for a reason.

From what I read, it's not a fire or not fire thing. The nerve had to regenerate approx 8 inches. The last a read, which was about a month ago, it was regenerating at the expected pace. They thought that sometime in Nov was a reasonable time frame for the 8 inches to regenerate and then allow the nerve to 'fire'.

Not a neurologist, but peripheral nerves tend to regrow about an inch per month. They can also stop growing forever at any point during this process. I have been told by specialists that you can generally expect anything under 6 inches to regrow and anything over 6 inches not to regrow, though there are exceptions either way. Even if it fully regrows, there is no guarantee it will ever work properly. Just my 2 cents, I'm sure the Cowboys have smarter doctors than me taking care of the problem

Maybe one of you doctors can explain why you need a nerve? I'm certain I don't have any in either knee and I'm okay.
