I've been hearing that for years, supposedly it isn't much of a secret in NFL circles.
what surprises me is that he hasn't been outed by tmz or someone like that.

should have completed my thought...if he were gay, you'd think he'd have been outed by a semi-reputable source.
Does anyone remember his appearance on Leno or Letterman (can't remember) during his Super Bowl years where he said "there are some things about my private life I am not ready to tell" or something like that? I had heard rumors for a while before he said that and I thought it was BS. When he uttered those words, I didn't know what to think.
i remember when he was first drafted and jerry jones went on nightline and said he was the type of guy that looks good in the shower.
Yeah, he should totally start raping chicks in nightclubs like Big Ben D-bag... then we would totally know he wasn't gay!!!

My sister is a high end travel agent for an agency in Dallas that does travel for wealthy people.
She has told us for years that Aikman is gay and that his marriage was a complete cover up and that it is one of the worst kept secrets in the business.
My BIL is a huge Cowboys homer and believes her. Really, she couldn't care less and would have no reason to make it up so I believe her.
On a related note, I was home sick today and was watching Outside the Lines and they were talking about some lesbian college coach that had come out to her team and was fired. They had a couple of gay former players that they interviewed after that segment who insisted that within the next 3-5 years, a gay person will come out of the closet that is an active player in a professional league. It will be pretty interesting to see the reaction of teammates and fans when that happens.
I'm a huge Spurs fan and most everybody thinks Richard Jefferson is gay. I guess it wouldn't matter to me if he came out, but it would have to be a little weird for his teammates, although I'm sure most of them assume the same.

Almost 15 years ago I worked with a gay guy who said he saw Aikman being interviewed in some gay sports bar or something like that. It wouldn't shock me in the least.

i didnt see the segment. was it the former LSU coach? i would assume they were talking about the wnba, which wouldnt be a shock to anyone.

Why does it matter? Shouldn't Mr. Aikman's personal life be his own business? And if he really is gay, FOX should NOT fire him as a commentator for that reason.

My buddy's uncle went to UCLA during the Aikman days. He swears up and down that #8 is a butt-pirate and it was common knowledge on campus.

This is similar to the fake blood on Curt Schilling's sock. A Cowboy insider planted the "Aikman is gay" story with Skip Bayless. Their primary purpose was to make Bayless look like a jackass because it was total fabrication. It's stuck around for long time. I don't believe it for a second.

the "Aikman is gay" story actually started with one of Barry Switzers cronies planting that story with members of the media which Bayless then picked up.
No the Switzer era was John Blake saying Aikman only yelled at black players because he was a racist. The gay rumors have been around since Johnson.

As for Aikman, until he comes out and says it himself then everything else is just a bunch of idiots with nothing better to do than discuss someone elses life because they don't have one of their own.
