No kidding. I need to look into that. Been trying to decide if I want to get my CPA or not... don't necessarily like the work, but the money is good.

Yep. Lower base with higher bonuses (company didn't hit targets when I was there, so no bonus) followed by a short NPO stint. Learned my lessons early about being weary of any bonus structure that wasn't a direct commission or individual performance-based goal.

The key for the MBA is going to a top school with a plan. Wasn't making top dollar going into things, but left into Management Consulting.

During that time, I also did most of my CFA charter as well. Won't use it in consulting as much, but it was another thing that singled me out from the pack.

I would rather not say.

Shoot for top 10. Top 25 is still good, but top employers start to thin out. Know which employers recruit where, and have a list of your targets. If not top 25 and full-time, someone else better be paying for all of it, because you just won't get the value.

Almost 3 year bump because a thread on the GB reminded me of this one and this was interesting back in the day. Looking back there are lots of names that still post here and could update again.

2021: 3.2x (4.3x total comp) - couple internal promotions since 2018

It's hard to say, options and bonuses are a big part of my overall compensation now and the value of both is heavily dependent upon how the next couple years go.

For you, JobSecurity... timely bump.

Just accepted a new offer to leave management consulting in mid-June after almost six years of grinding, unsure how to value the equity of the new position just yet.

2013 - $0; quit job

2020 - $270k ($160 salary; $107 bonus)
2021 - $325k ($181 salary; $144 bonus)

Don't ever stay in a miserable job/career just because it pays well. 2013 was awful, but best decision I've ever made. Also, I recommend trying to have a job lined up before quitting a job.
