Probably not until you're a little higher up the food chain...

Most companies work a Short Term Incentive plan (smaller bonuses yearly), Long Term Incentive Program (usually larger amounts that don't vest until 3-5 years down the road); stock plans, etc.

But those are mostly for manager levels and above.

Graduated in 2012. Been working for same Staffing Company since I graduated. Currently have a base of 40k, wtih 10k+ off commission, end of year I should be at 52k.

I would be interested to see who else is in staffing, working for agencies versus for corporate recruiting?

Also, how many of you have found success because you stayed in the same line of work for a number of years versus making a jump to a different field?

2007: x+0.15*x bonus target
2008-2014: 1-12% raise per year depending on year.
2015: 1.56*x + 0.25*1.56*x bonus target

Some of these trajectories you guys are posting are pretty sick. I've done very very well compared to similar backgrounds at my company. People getting 2/3/4x increases of total comp 10 years out of school blows my mind.

corndog04 - that 2015 comp plan looks complicated
And don't worry about the multiples - I started out as a US Army 2LT which was only worth about $18K/yr back when I graduated in 1993.
http://www.dfas.mil/militarymembers/payentitlements/military-pay-charts.html
Today that same 2LT would get $35K/yr
The rest is the result of risk-taking, hard-work, a positive job-interview outcome a time or two and an increase in education level and specialized skills.

I do occasionally crack-up when I think back to how expensive some goods that haven't changed in price much since 1993 used to seem compared to how expensive they seem now that I earn more than 10x what I earned back then. 2 years ago I bought a new ski jacket for $300 and I only wear it 7-10 days/year. When I was a 2LT, I needed to spend $140 on a camouflage Gore-Tex Jacket that I wore everyday during the winter at Fort Knox, Kentucky. I remember letting my wife know that things were going to be really tight that month because buying that jacket was a major purchase. On the civilian dress side, I just kept wearing my Levi's denim jacket until I got tired of being insulted by a 2LT from North Little Rock, AR. "You mean you don't got no better jacket than that?" Yeah. I'm from Texas. Don't need one. I had stopped wearing my satin Aggie Band jacket because I didn't think anybody in Louisville would appreciate it

I'd be curious if there is a good source for compensation growth by occupation. I basically got thrust into sales out of college and discovered I enjoy it and they opportunity to grow my salary has been pretty simple. My friends went into other roles that are more detached from revenue and have not seen much compensation growth without moving companies.

The 1.0x stuff is very hard to read, and varies wildly based on what your first job was.

My wife and I both graduated May 2009.

My salary
2009 - 35,000
2010 - 35,000
2011 - 38,000
2012 - 41,000
2013 - 47,500
2014 - 60,000
2015 - 65,000 (probable 70-75 by end of year)

My wife - (oil and gas)
2009 - 60,000
2010 - 67,500
2011 - 74,000
2012 - 84,500
2013 - 87,400
2014 - 99,600
2015 - 99,600 (probable 105-110 by end of year)

so combined - we look like this
2009 - 95,000
2010 - 102,500
2011 - 112,000
2012 - 125,500
2013 - 134,900
2014 - 159,600
2015 - estimated end of year at 180,000

We have been lucky where she has had years of small salary growth, I have had a big jump, and vice versa. - This also doesn't include bonuses, which each now are above 12% salary target.

We have been lucky to get a minimum 7-8% bump each year. Don't know how long we can sustain that.

With your credentials and years of experience thi is what your looking at:

Commercial: $70-80K
Industrial: $85K
Offshore: $100K

I know because I was in the same boat and I have worked in all 3 industries. You will not find anything offshore right now. Stay put and wait it out until it recovers but it will go up and down every 5-10 years
