That's a level of passitivity that "woke" simply is not.
Woke was term used by spoken-word poets as a greater awareness of health, wealth, etc. But I get why you wouldn't know that.
"Woke" has a long history in black speech but it most recently emerged from black academics who write about -- surprise -- black issues. It means to be aware of racial injustice and social (i.e. progressive) issues.
The term entered the mainstream during the Black Lives Matter movement because progressive writers used it extensively to mock white people who questioned the underlying reasons for the upheaval. In their minds, whites didn't understand because they were still asleep, i.e. not "woke."
White conservatives didn't change the meaning ... they simply took a word that was considered laudatory by progressives and turned it into a negative, describing people or things that are over-the-top progressive.
