A JD is someone who graduates from law school.

A lawyer is someone who is admitted to practice law.

And it is a felony crime in Texas, for example, to hold yourself out as a "lawyer" if you are not admitted to practice law (with the intent to economically benefit yourself.)

Not really. To practice law in China you must be fluent in Chinese to pass their equivalent of the bar and be a citizen. So unless Donald Trump just hired a Chinese National as press secretary, she never practiced law in China.

I was reading a reporter round table about Hegseth. One of the big question a lot of Republicans in Congress have is why does Trump like him so much despite doing so many cringeworthy things. They all said that from their sources inside the White House, Trump just likes the way he looks. Basically he has a man crush on him. Same way he picks a lot of people he surrounds himself with. Folks that look good on TV and or loyal, or if he can't get pretty he will settle for do whatever I saw blind loyalty like Patel.
Actual competence or qualifications don't even matter.

I saw a clip of this woman speaking and it is cringey and awkward as hell, but I think it truly is a case of being nervous AF and freezing up. This stage is too big for most people. I would be an abomination up there.

That being said, ZERO liberals can point a finger and laugh. Their best and brightest (like SCOTUS justice Ketanji Jackson) have no clue what a woman is. Mainstream democrat politicians and media members too. This Zacharia chick will NEVER be that crazy and stupid.

The California bar stated she never passed the bar, she can't be a lawyer in China because she isn't a citizen, and now she claims the president of Pepperdine told her it was ok to call herself a lawyer, but of course Pepperdine won't comment. Having worked for a major newspaper, I can attest that the one reporter who made something up was frog marched out the front door the day it was discovered. What you think are fabrications are just thinks you don't agree with.

In fairness to press briefings, it was more like a mediocrely written and poorly delivered convention speech than a typical press briefing.
