I mean, if we're treating it like an internship then I'm sure she will learn valuable lessons and progress from downright bad to something somewhere north of bad over time. I expected her to come across as capable right off the bat but maybe that's on me for having unrealistic expectations of what the standards are these days.

Not really. To practice law in China you must be fluent in Chinese to pass their equivalent of the bar and be a citizen. So unless Donald Trump just hired a Chinese National as press secretary, she never practiced law in China.


If I had to guess she probably worked as an advisor of some kind when she worked there for about 2 years.

It wasn't even close to being as bad as you are crying about.

Leavitts was a bit shaky the first time at the podium and was equally lambasted by the MSM and usual suspects on f16. Pretty funny to watch how laughably bad their takes were once Leavitt got her sea legs.

I'm willing to see how she goes.

It was not good. Not raggedy ann bad, but not a stellar performance.

here's my honest assessment after I just watched the entire 15 minutes of Katie's press conference

I will say the first few minutes of her reading word for word of the Trump accomplishments was a little boring. She should've had all that memorized where she can look at the press, face-to-face without having her face reading off a binder.

Being able to look out into the room, full of reporters is a sign of more strength instead of just being given talking points that she may not have even known prior to taking the podium

After that, she did OK with the three questions that she was asked. She just needs to have a voice That's a little bit more authoritative stronger where she is controlling the room.

By no means was this a train wreck that somebody earlier mentioned not even close they're just trying to be overly dramatic to try to make Trump and Katie look bad. She can do better and I have all faith that she will do better. I just watched it far from a train wreck. She just needs to be more upbeat and have a stronger enthusiastic voice.

Let's evaluate her after a few weeks. Not fair to anyone after day 1 in a high pressure job like this.

I recall LMCane was pretty tough on Karoline day one (if I got the poster wrong, my bad but it's only meant as a reference). She turned it on and up pretty quick after that first day up.

Assume she is not the first choice based on the overall timing and then her evidently being told you got the gig, go home and pack and show up Monday and be prepare for podium Tuesday AM.

Btw, POTUS is going to fire the Amb to Greece who was morning ago engaged to his son and also the ex wife of 2028 hopeful Newsom.

Funny enough, was on vacation one time and my kid just started randomly playing with another kid (6-7 years old kids). My daughter comes running up after a while and says "hey my friend is going to the beach, can we go too", so we did and the other kids dad is wearing these massive sunglasses and we start talking and the voice sounds really familiar, it's Brian Stelter. Ended up putting up with him and his wife for the next like 4 hours, the things you'll do for your kids.
Luckily didn't ever venture into politics, but he's as weird a dude as we think he is.
